Regional Firearms Auction - August 19th 2006

Important Information Regarding Regional Sales:

Our regional sales are geared toward collector/dealers who would attend our auction in person, thus the name regional. "Regional" sales differ from our "Premiere" sales in that we offer a black and white catalog, typically they are one day, and most importantly all items are sold as is without warranty, guarantee, endorsement or pledge. A potential buyer should inspect each object before submitting a bid. Absentee bidders are strongly encouraged to have an agent or associate view the item before bidding. All bids are final sales and no bid will be rescinded for any reason. This sale has many high quality items. Don't be fooled by the "regional" title as there are many antique and highly collectable items in this sale.

We have adopted a new system of listing the items for sale. This new system is explained here (click). This is acknowledged as an imperfect system and it is intended as a GUIDE only.

TELEPHONE BIDDING will be severely limited in the regional sale. Telephone bidding will only be allowed in special circumstances with approval of the president of Rock Island Auction Company and will be based on past purchase history.

SEALED BIDDING will be allowed via the traditional methods of phone, fax, mail or e-mail.

We must state again that descriptions in this regional sale catalog should be thought of as a list of items for sale. Our list is simply what we have observed. If, for instance, the gun has an incorrect sight, most descriptions have been written by "interns" and they may not know that. Due to the reduced emphasis on written descriptions in regional auction catalogs all sales in the regional auction are final. Rock Island Auction will not rescind a sale for any reason including if the catalog description is partially or totally incorrect. We expect each buyer to view the item and make up their own mind. In the case of absentee bidders they are encouraged to have an agent/associate view the item.
In summary, in the regional sale if you buy it you own it.
