As a new user of RIAC, I was a bit concerned about bidding on something sight-unseen, because I'm not intending to visit in person for the auction. So, I thought, well I'll ask them to run a bore scope in the rifle I'm interested in and let me know results. They didn't have a scope, but they DID VERY WILLINGLY give me a more extensive description of the bore than the Lot description! What service! So I encourage people to use the "Ask a Question" facility. Easy and very informative. Very helpful staff. M.Y.
My first, my very first live online auction. Enough to make you nervous. Add to this my location: Paris, France and you get mixed feelings running from "this is crazy" to "nah, it's ok" ten times per minute. Then you throw your credit card number, place a sealed bid and hit "confirm". That's it, you're in. At that very specific moment your emotions turn Six Flags' worst roller coasters into kindergarten playground. Then comes the day. You're locked in your office, kids and wife at large. Lot is on the line, buddings are hot, BAM! It goes so fast, you don't even realize you won the lot you were dreaming of. Now what?! Now you're facing the most serious people you can rely on. Communications are great, before and after the auction. When UPS gave me a hard time with the French customs, I was never left alone with unanswered questions. For this, I want to show my gratitude and make one statement: with RIAC, you are in very, very good hands! It took less than a month (due to French administration mostly) but my 2 Bowie Knives made it to France safe and sound. Awesome! - A. C. Paris, France
I always have been told the truth after any questions, percentage ratings are always on the money honesty integrity are words I would most use. At first I thought the shipping charges were overpriced until I tried to open a won auction item it took a long time very well done folks good to know there is still outstanding customer service Rock island auction gets it right the first time not always so on some other auction sights. Just got my rifle yesterday, the condition is better than I expected and totally worth the money I've paid, actually I think it's worth more than what I've paid. Your service team is awesome and I always got very fast responses. The value of my rifle is nothing comparing too many other high-value firearms you did on the auction but I still got treated like VIP. I'm super happy with your service and products. I had consignments in the April 2018 and June 2018 RIA auctions. I am 100% satisfied with the way my consignment was handled. RIA seems to be one of the most efficient organizations with which I have done business. First, the staff was always friendly and helpful. Second, every step of the consignment process went exactly as advertised. From submittal of my items, pickup at my home, appraisal, descriptions in the catalog, and sale. I would highly recommend RIA to anyone thinking about selling their guns and related items. H.T.

I wanted to thank you for your timely tips on giving yourself the best chance to win an item. I did not realize so many lots ended in a tie. As it happened in the December auction I ended up in a tie. Because I bid early I won the tie. I also used the plus 1 strategy which is what got me to the tie position. Great information and it helped me get the shotgun i wanted. J.M.

I was informed at each step as to the national advertising that was done on my behalf. My item sold for the amount that was anticipated by both myself and RIAC and I received prompt notification of that amount. RIAC handled everything from my initial contact to my final payment in a completely professional manner. I was completely satisfied. S.R.
Consigned a 1923 colt new service .45 Target with factory letter which called out factory engraving ivory stocks etc. Rock Island couldn't have been more knowledgeable and professional. They went all out taking some amazing pictures of it to be published in their premier auction catalog. There is no doubt that Rock Island Auction did everything necessary and then some to put my old Colt in the right place at the right time in order to get the highest amount possible. RIAC sent my check exactly when they said they would, it cleared and my funds were available right away. No drafts and all of that nonsense. RIAC got me around 14,000 dollars more than the local gun stores were willing to pay. They kept in touch with me throughout the entire research process which took about a year. With all of the work and research riac done it honestly made me wonder how they make any money. My experience was so impressive that I'm currently going through my collection to see if there are any other hidden gems I don't know about. I recommend RIAC to ANYONE interested buying or selling antiques in general. There are a lot of shady characters in the business, especially the gun business. Rock island is NOT one of them. They shoot straight (no pun intended) with you and will go above and beyond to conduct business professionally and with INTEGRITY. I have consigned firearms twice to the RIAC for auction in their Premiere auctions. Most recently, in their September Premiere auction. In both events I found the personnel that I worked with to be extremely knowledgeable, and a real pleasure to work with.
Upon the completions of each auction, I was quickly informed of the closing, final bid on each of my items, by Lot number. Over the past 40 years, I have utilized several premium auction houses, and was very happy with them. However, I have never employed an auction company with such professional, knowledgeable, pleasant personnel, and of the highest ethical standards.
I will continue to utilize RIAC, and I would recommend them highly, and with confidence, to my friends and colleagues. I am writing this email to tell you what an unbelievably great job you guys do. I just sold my Browning shotgun and received my check today. As you might imagine, I certainly had concerns about selling my gun in this manner and worries about getting ripped off. I quickly found out that I had no need to worry. First, I had a discussion with one of your staff on the phone. Everything about the call was fantastic including dealing with someone who was very professional, courteous, and helpful. Handling of all the paperwork was also surprisingly easy, made so by your staff. Once all that was over and I was told that you guys would select the best auction and that it might be a few months, I was not worried but just wondering if it would sell. The amount of correspondence from you guys concerning the status, when it would be listed, how to find it etc. was extensive and wonderful truly making me feel comfortable with everything going on. Once it sold, again you sent me correspondence to tell me when checks would be paid etc. All of that correspondence from you guys was so professional and tremendous customer service. Thanks again to a truly outstanding company. If I need to sell another gun, I will certainly use you again and I have told my friends about you. Buying from Rock Island Auction was an awesome choice. I stumbled across this site thanks to Ian McCollum's Forgotten Weapons videos. This site has opened up a whole new world of possibilities for firearms to purchase. The staff there is extremely helpful and professional, items are extremely well packaged. The items that I received are in far better condition than what the photos indicated that it might be. I will definitely be keeping an eye on the auctions here from now on. My 1st experience with Rock Island Auction was on the evening of May 6, 2017. Everyone I spoke to was professional and courteous. Being a phone bidder was all on me but my present bidder was my eyes and ears. She did a great job keeping me up to date so I could jump in and get my bid. I am writing this review about Rock Island Auction because I feel it could be helpful to families that are left gun collections by their loved ones. They put my father's guns in their Premier auctions, and their Sporting & Collector auctions and they sold like wildfire. A lot of my father's Colts and Winchesters went far above their high estimate. We are so happy with this company I just can't express my gratitude in words. They completely understood this emotional journey we went on together to sell my dad's 50 year old collection. It was very sentimental, and it did turn out to be an amazing experience. My dad has since passed away. He was so pleased at the end of his life that his lifelong collection went to people that loved the guns like he did. I must say Pat Hogan and his son Kevin are a class act, we received top dollar for his collection. I spoke to Jessica Tanghe all the time and her kindness and understanding helped me through this process. If I were to rate this company on a scale of 1 to 100 I would give them 100. D. K

Hi folks: This is to let you know that I received my large Bowie with the pierced blade, and original sheath from you yesterday. Your mail service is the best in the business, extremely fast, and the packing was some of the very best I've ever seen from an auction house. The FED-EX postage to get it to me was extremely fair and in NO WAY inflated. The Bowie is fantastic, and is as described. I could not be more pleased with it. My best to your entire crew.
