A Few Words From Past Consignors and Customers
"What a magnificent result you and your company delivered in the sale of my Remington collection at your September Premiere Auction. You folks did everything that you said you would do AND THEN SOME! Please consider me a charter member of the RIA Fan Club. You and your people are great and have earned my highest compliments for your efforts and results. With sincere personal appreciation,"
-James Tipton, One of the Finest Collections of Museum Quality Engraved Remington Shotguns Ever Assembled
“Pat Hogan was knowledgeable about the guns, provided a professional presentation in the catalog (superior in my opinion), and gave honest, straightforward advice. No one else offered that. And finally I wasn’t forgotten. I was offered a book of my collection. Something I reflect on with friends and family quite often."
- Larry Mayle, One of the Finest Collections of Engraved Colts Ever Assembled
“Frank and I were very pleased with the results we obtained at Rock Island Auction Company. We knew that they would get the most for our collection over any other auction house”.
- Karen Sellers, The Frank & Karen Sellers Collection, The Worlds Finest and Most Complete Sharps Collection
“Rock Island Auction Company has always been a pioneer in marketing. We’ll never forget how five records were broken while selling our collection in 2001.”
- Dave and Dan Kidd, Kidd Bros. Winchester Collection as featured in the Winchester Slide Action book by Ned Schwing
"Harrison always said he enjoyed doing business with Rock Island Auction Company. He was never disappointed or worried. He found his dealings with everyone there to be honest and reputable.”
- Pauline Carroll, The Harrison Carroll Collection
"This afternoon the FedEx man arrived with the catalog for the April auction. I was really blown away as I poured over not only the catalog in general but the three (3!!) full pages that our Colt received. I just had to take a few moments to write an email to you all.
From the very start, from Rick's first phone call back to me after submitting the pictures of the gun online just to identify the gun at all, all the way to this moment, I can't believe how well we've been treated. The time and attention that his been lavished on the gun, and as a result, our family, has been overwhelming.
All of you who have talked to us know that we're not "in the business." It would've been very easy for you at any time to take advantage of our ignorance, but that is not what you did. You were patient, informative, and at this moment have presented this gun with the best opportunity to generate not only interest in the collecting community and perhaps a decent sum of money, but most importantly to me, you've enabled us to get the gun into the hands of an individual or institution who will truly appreciate it.
As a "preacher from South Dakota" as Pat so eloquently put in the introduction to volume 2 of the catalog, we don't live a lavish life, though we are certainly well taken care of. No matter what the final price for this gun ends up being, it's going to create opportunities for us and for our children in the future that we wouldn't have had otherwise. Those opportunities will exist in no small part because of the amazing work that RIA has done. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
I don't have an email address for Pat, but if someone could make sure to send this note to him, I would appreciate it. I want to express the thanks to him as well for all of his work and time, but also remind him what a talented, wonderful staff he has. He should be very proud of the work you all do.
If you need me for anything along the way before the auction, you know how to get a hold of me.
Take care! And thanks again!"

Dear Mr. Hogan,
I just wanted to take a moment to tell you about a fantastic experience I had this afternoon. I’ve been on the service end of things for the last 20 years, and came to your company as a customer. I believe you’ll agree with me that customer service is quickly becoming a lost art.
So I feel it is incredibly appropriate that I write you and tell you that everyone I’ve interacted with on behalf of your company has been fantastic, professional, and kind. I’ve corresponded with Heather frequently, and worked with Bridget and your other front office staff in person. I thought perhaps your fantastic service was limited to these fine ladies, but then I was treated to your exceptional warehouse staff in the fulfillment of my order.
I’m certain you already know what a fabulous job they do, but I really enjoy positive customer feedback, and figure you might also.
I look forward to doing business with you again.
Regards,

Dear Patrick,
One of the hardest decisions to have to make in life is to get rid of something that you are so dear to. The guns I have put up for auction have been in my family since they were bought over 100 yrs ago. They were to be passed on to my son as they were to me. My son died this time last year at the age of 25. As his love for these guns it was hard to decide what to do. My daughters were not interested in the guns, thus I decided to sell through you,to help pay for some of their schooling. I only want to say that the amount of professionalism that has incurred since sending these out has been outstanding .Now granted I do not know if they are going to sell or at what price. I can only say that I feel that I have made the right decision and if they do not sell it will be by no fault of yours (or mine). The Marketing, the Flyer, the Catalog has been outstanding. The people I have dealt with have also been outstanding. I just wanted to let you know, that you made a very personal decision very easy. Continued Good Luck to all of you and your staff as you supply a service that has been invaluable to me. Thank You!
