DescriptionThis is an excellent example of a World War II U.S. Contract Colt Model 1903 Hammerless pistol with the original Colt parkerized finish, checkered walnut stocks with inlaid nickel silver Colt medallions. Many of these 1903 pistols were issued as General Officer automatics well into the late 1950s and early 1960s before the introduction of the General Officers pistol based on the standard Model 1911A1 pistol. The right side of the frame is roll-stamped with the "U.S. PROPERTY" marking. The left rear side of the frame is stamped with a partial small crossed cannon final Ordnance inspection proof. The right side of the slide is roll-stamped in two line: "COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE 32 RIMLESS SMOKELESS". The left side of the slide is roll-stamped in two lines: "COLT'S PT. F.A.MFG.CO. HARTFORD CT.U.S.A./PATENTED APR. 20.1897. DEC. 22, 1903" with the large Rampant Colt trademark roll-stamped behind the grip serrations. The slide is fitted with the late style front and rear sight. The serial number, "567429" is stamped on the left side of the frame and the Colt "VP/Triangle" proofmark is stamped on the left side of the trigger guard bow with the Colt inspector mark number "57" on the right side. The magazine floor plate is roll-stamped: "CAL.32/COLT". This pistol is complete with a cardboard shipping box, one spare original all blued Colt magazine, a cleaning rod and copy of the Colt disassembly instructions.

ConditionExcellent, near new condition with 99% plus of the original parkerized finish with just a hint of edge wear overall. The walnut grips are also in excellent to like new condition with crisp sharp checkering overall with just a couple of minor handling marks. The spare magazine is also in like new condition. The box, grease paper and instructions are crisp and new and may suggest reproduction.
