Inventory Production Assistant
We are a unique company known internationally for our commitment to providing top of the line items not found elsewhere and for our outstanding customer service. We currently have an immediate opening for Web Developer who enjoys working in a high energy and rapidly growing environment. This position is responsible for designing, coding and modifying websites and their database back ends, from layout to function. You will provide support to two very busy and growing companies with very different operations.
- Develop and maintain company websites and web applications. You will be the lead developer.
- Assistance from a junior developer and in house DBA and .NET developer.
- Creation of CMS interfaces for staff to maintain web content.
- Integration between website data and SQL server.
- 5+ years’ experience doing web development.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Excellent knowledge of back end technologies like PHP and MySQL / MS SQL
- Proficiency in responsive/adaptive CSS
- Proficiency in Photoshop
- Knowledge of basic SEO techniques
- An understanding of browser inconsistencies, including mobile
- Knowledge of accessibility/usability best practices
- Experience working with other members of a development team
- A collection of standards-compliant, cross-browser compatible examples work.
- Familiarity with using WordPress as a quickly-deployable CMS

Road Crew (Part-Time)

Rock Island Auction Company (RIAC) travels throughout the United States picking up firearms collections and related material. We are currently seeking part time employees to be part of our road crew. Duties will include, but are not limited to, driving, verifying inventory, packing items for transport, and providing excellent customer service. Some knowledge of collectible firearms is desired but not necessary.
This position requires: a DOT physical, if not current (RIAC, upon hire, will schedule and pay for the physical), ability to lift 50 lbs. and be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time. This is a part-time position. The number of trips will vary from none one month to two or three another month. Lengths of trips depend on route and number of stops – some will be a one day trip, others several days. Travel expenses are covered by RIAC. Pay will commensurate with experience and in relation to this position. Must be 21 or older.
Rock Island Auction Company, the World’s #1 firearms auction house, is a unique and fast growing business. We are currently seeking temporary, part-time workers for our Warehouse/Shipping Department. Duties will include, but are not limited to, packing items for shipping, handling collectibles, moving inventory within the warehouse, auction setup, various other duties related to the auction process, and general work as assigned. This is detail oriented work. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods. If you are dependable, hard working and like variety, this may be the perfect job for you!
This is a part-time position; hours will fluctuate depending on work flow and company needs. Hours will average 25 to 35 per week and vary between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with some weekend or evening work possible. Must be able to work auction weekends five times a year. We will work with you on your schedule if you attend school or have another job. Salary is $10.00 per hr. Must be 18 or older.
