SEPTEMBER PREMIERE AUCTION AS ONE OF THE FINEST AUCTIONS
IN COMPANY HISTORY
AUCTION HIGHLIGHT: HISTORICALLY SIGNIFICANT, DOCUMENTED U.S. SENATOR JOHN F. KENNEDY U.S. SPRINGFIELD ARMORY NATIONAL MATCH 1959 M1 GARAND SEMI-AUTOMATIC RIFLE.
Rock Island Auction Company’s April Premiere Auction will feature SIX prominent collections as well as outstanding Winchesters, Colts, military arms, historically important pieces and much more. One of the many highlights of the auction will be the Frank & Karen Sellers Collection of the most comprehensive Sharps collection ever to come to auction. Other highlights include the prominent collections of the William Powell Estate of Colts and Smith & Wessons, the Ralph Hagan Collection of Liberator pistols, the Val Forgett Collection of Kerr revolvers, the Joseph Kramer Collection of miniature arms, and the James Drummond Collection of single shot rifles. A cased, engraved Winchester 1866 carbine made for the King of Spain, Alfonso XII represents the extremely rare and historically significant items offered. The gathering of Colts, Winchesters and Smith & Wessons exude both condition and rarity. The sporting arms in the auction represent the finest in quality, condition and rarity starting with the Ulrich engraved, Fantastic Four Winchester model 70’s. Additionally, the German, Japanese and U.S. military arms are equally as impressive and rare. A high quality collection of Union and Confederate arms add to the diversity of Rock Island Auction Company’s second Premiere Auction of 2007. The auction covers three days with a full day of preview on Friday before the Saturday, Sunday and Monday sales.
Owner Patrick Hogan states, “We have sold literally 150,000 plus firearms over the years, however this is the most diverse, unique and historical grouping of firearms we have ever assembled in one auction.”
