Description:Manufactured in 1947, this pistol is one of a few thousand Woodsman pistols manufactured after WWII using left over pre-war parts and were often a mix of pre-war and post-war markings and finishes. Most were fitted with the plastic extended grips leftover from the Match Target military contract, some with the standand checkered walnut grips, as is the case with this pistol..The top of the barrel is marked with two line address/1903, 1918 patents, the left side of the frame is marked "THE WOODSMAN" and the left side of the slide "COLT AUTOMATIC / CAL. 22 LONG RIFLE" followed by the Rampant Colt. Elevation adjustable front blade and windage adjustable rear sights, serrated trigger, blue Colt Woodsman marked magazine and fitted with checkered walnut grips. Complete with the original box numbered to the gun, with "shooting suggestions" and "special instructions" pamphlets and instructions sheet.
Condition:Excellent. The pistol retains 95% plus original blue finish with some mild muzzle and high edge wear and some thinning on the front strap. The grips are also excellent with some minor handling marks and crisp checkering. The markings are clear. The action is excellent. The box is fair.
