Description:Factory letter confirms serial number, caliber, No. 1 26" octagon barrel, and plain trigger with rifle received in warehouse on June 20, 1892 and shipped on July 11, 1892 (order no. 1623) with no address given. Replacement blade front sight and semi-buckhorn rear sight, with two line barrel address. Lower tang has serial number and patent date. Smooth forearm with ebony insert and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate.
Condition:Very good. The barrel retains traces of original blue finish in the protected areas and traces of original case colors on the remaining metal surface with the overall balance a smooth silver-gray patina with some minor spotting. The wood is revarnished with some minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.

Description:Manufactured in 1896. Beaded blade front and Marble buckhorn rear sights, with two line barrel address and "25-20 SS" on top flat of the No. 1 barrel. Lower tang has serial number and patent date. Smooth Schnabel forearm with ebony insert and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate.
Condition:Refinished. The barrel has a smooth artificial gray patina with some streaks of brown, along with a few patches of pin point pitting. The remaining metal surfaces retain traces of silvered out case colors in and around the protected areas with a balance a smooth dark patina. The undersized refinished wood is good with a few minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
