| Description: | This is a rare factory prototype of a Winchester Model 61 Slide Action Rifle chambered in 22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire Shot. The smooth bore barrel has a single bead front sight and is marked "22 WMR SHOT" on the top. The Winchester factory proof is stamped on the barrel and receiver at the breech. The caliber marking and factory proof are the only markings on the barrel. Matching numbers on frame and trigger guard and the serial number falls into the Model 61 serial number range for a very late production rifle circa 1963. 17 groove flat bottom forearm and smooth pistol grip stock with checkered hard rubber Winchester buttplate. | ||
| Condition: | Excellent. The rifle retains 99% original blue finish with extensive slide wear. The wood is also excellent with some scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. | ||
