| Description: | This is a very unusual example of a refurbished Mauser Banner Commercial Luger that falls into the commercial contract serial number range of the pre-war Banner contract Lugers. This example is chambered in the 7.65 mm Luger caliber. This model has always been controversial since so few examples actually exist. The chamber is dated "1937" and the front toggle has the Mauser Banner logo. The left side of the barrel extension is marked with the "Crown/U" proof mark next to the serial number "6721". It has the standard commercial serial number placement. As noted it has the short fast taper style barrel in the 7.65mm Luger caliber with the full serial number (6721) stamped on the underside. It has the standard extractor and safety markings and is fitted with checkered walnut grips and a blued magazine with an unnumbered aluminum base. | ||
| Condition: | Very fine as professionally restored with 97% of the blue finish overall with only minor edge and high spot wear. The various small parts retain 90% of their straw colors. The grips are near mint with nice distinct checkering, with only minor wear across the tops of the checkering. The pistol has all matching numbers except the unnumbered grips and magazine as noted above. | ||
