Customer Service Representative – Part-time 2nd Shift
Seeking outgoing customer oriented people to join our exceptional Customer Service Department. If you enjoy dealing with some of the nicest people in the industry, then working for the #1 firearms auction house in the World might be the job for you!
Duties to consist of, but not limited to, reaching out to our clients regarding various auction services, i.e., catalog purchasing, placing bids, winning bids, arranging shipping, resolving issues and overall providing excellent customer service and customer satisfaction.
Prior customer service with an emphasis on high volume telephone interaction required. Strong knowledge and on the job experience with Word and Outlook a must. This is a part-time position. Hours are 5pm to 8pm and Saturdays 9am to 2pm. $13.00 per hr.

Rock Island Auction Company, the World’s #1 firearms auction house is seeking a Product Photographer. Subject material to include but is not limited to collectible antique and modern firearms as well as historical military memorabilia. Training will involve all aspects of this specialized photography. Our outstanding catalogs are well known throughout the industry largely due to our outstanding photography and understanding that the photography is secondary, the product comes first and that the perfect shot will entice the potential buyer.
We are looking to fill a second shift position, 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., Monday thru Friday – some overtime and weekend work is required. Starting wage is $13.50 an hour plus benefits. Training will take place on first shift, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., for approximately 6 – 8 weeks. Road Crew (Part Time)
If you want to see the world from the road, enjoy travel and are looking for a job that involves firearms and history, this is the job for you! Rock Island Auction Company (RIAC) travels throughout the United States picking up firearms collections and related material. We are currently seeking part time employees to be part of our road crew. Duties will include, but are not limited to, driving, verifying inventory, packing items for transport, and providing excellent customer service. Some knowledge of collectible firearms is desired but not necessary.
This position requires: a DOT physical, if not current (RIAC, upon hire, will schedule and pay for the physical), ability to lift 50 lbs. and be able to be on your feet for extended periods of time. This is a part-time position. The number of trips will vary from none one month to two or three another month. Lengths of trips depend on route and number of stops – some will be a one day trip, others several days. Travel expenses are covered by RIAC. We are currently seeking part time workers for our Warehouse/Shipping Department. Duties will include, but are not limited to, packing items for shipping, handling collectibles, moving inventory within the warehouse, auction setup, previous carpentry experience necessary as custom crate building will be needed. Experience with hand tools a must. Various other duties related to the auction process and general work as assigned. This is detail oriented work. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods. If you are dependable, hardworking and like variety, this may be the perfect job for you!
This is a part-time position; hours will fluctuate depending on work flow and Company needs. We are currently seeking to fill the position of full-time Describer. Duties include the descriptive writing and research of items being placed to auction, i.e. firearms, edged weapons and military artifacts. Applicant should have a passion for history, and extensive knowledge in at least one genre of firearms. This is a unique opportunity for the right individual. If you have the desire, and are open to learning a new area of the firearms business, this could be the career for you.
Requirements for this position: experience with Microsoft Office, be able to type 40+ wpm and lift 50 lbs. All work is done on site, therefore applicants must live within 30 miles of our facility. This is a full-time position Monday-Friday with some weekend work. Pay will commensurate with experience and firearms knowledge level.
