Engraved Thomas Tyrer Virginia Half-Stock Percussion Rifle

"THOMAS TYRER RICHMOND VIRGINIA" marked barrel and "T. Tyrer" marked lock. There are both a Thomas Tyrer, Sr. and Jr. listed as gunsmiths in Richmond, Virginia circa 1850 to as late as 1904 when Jr. died in "American Gunsmiths" by Frank Sellers.

ConditionPoor with dark patina, moderate oxidation and pitting, partially stabilized crack in the wrist, and moderate overall wear. The set trigger and lock function, but the lock sometimes hangs up.
