Bore Condition: The bore is dark with pitting/oxidation.
Description:

"Ketland/& Co." marked lock, "Y+C/126" unit stamped on the left of the buttstock, and "A/23" on the buttplate tang. Other examples are known of these Ketland fusils with the same type of markings, and they are believed to have been privately purchased for issue to one of the York City Volunteer or Militia units formed at the outbreak of the war with revolutionary France.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with most of the applied brown patina on the barrel and the remainder mostly a bright patina, light pitting scattered throughout, and the restored wood has some repairs, cracks, filler, and dings. Mechanically excellent.
