Manufactured in 1963, shortly before Winchester made cost cutting changes to the design in 1964 and subsequent production. Fitted with ramped, hooded, beaded blade front and folding notch rear sights, with the bolt body jeweled. The left side of the barrel is marked with the Winchester address, model, and caliber. "WP" proofs are marked on the barrel and receiver. The receiver is marked with the Winchester trademark on the left and serial number on the right receiver ring. Mounted in a multi-point checkered straight grain walnut pistol grip stock with sling loops, raised cheekpiece, and checkered plastic buttplate.
