This is an example of a late 1937 production Luger as produced at the Mauser factory. The pistol is dated "1937" on the chamber and has the "S/42" code on the front toggle link. The non-matching magazine has a blue body with aluminum bottom. The four digit serial number is located on the front of the frame, the bottom of the barrel and the left side of the receiver. The partial serial number is stamped on the lock bolt, side plate, safety latch, safety lever, both toggle links and sear bar assembly. All of the serial numbers match except the magazine. The right side of the receiver is stamped with two "Eagle/63" Army acceptance marks followed by an eagle test proof. The right side of the barrel is stamped with an Eagle test Proof and the left side with the "Eagle/63" acceptance mark. With a brown leather holster marked "dkk/ 42" and "eagle WaA / 185" on the rear.

Very fine, with approximately 80% of the original blue finish overall. There is some fading to gray concentrated on the grip straps, wear on the high edges, and light spotting and handling marks. The grips are very good, with some shallow pressure dents on the checkering. Mechanically excellent. The holster is very good as repaired, with a replaced belt strap and moderate overall wear.
