A) Engraved Percussion Pistol

Possibly Italian in origin, this lot features two identically engraved percussion pistols with case. The pistols are marked underneath Michel, Columbe, Milano and have a smooth bore Damascus barrel that gauges at approximately .64 caliber. The breech plug, upper tang, lock plate, and hammer feature a floral scroll engraving with the bolster having a fan type engraving. The back strap, grip cap, spur trigger guard, barrel wedge escutcheons, and forend cap are German silver. The German silver components also feature a floral scroll engraving with floral blossoms on the barrel wedge escutcheons and a leaf/vine pattern on the upper section of the back strap. The lock plate features a half cock lock and the forend cap extends the length of the forearm on the underside. Smooth stock, single barrel wedge, and swivel iron ramrod. Complete with a wood veneer case lined with green felt.

ConditionVery good. The barrel has a mottled brown-gray patina with evidence of being cleaned some time ago. The remaining iron surfaces have a smooth gray patina with a brown patina forming on the hammer. The mounts have an untouched aged patina with 30% of the silvery appearance remaining. The sanded and re-oiled stock is very good with some minor dings and scratches and a couple pressure dents. The case is fair with some areas of missing veneer, some cracks in the veneer, and a wrapped lid. The lining has some wear and some areas where it is separated from the case.

ConditionVery good. The barrel retains traces of the Damascus pattern with a mottled brown-gray patina with evidence of being cleaned some time ago. The remaining iron components have a smooth gray patina with a brown patina forming on the hammer. The mounts have an untouched aged patina with 40% of the silvery appearance remaining. The sanded and reoiled stock is very good with some minor dings and scratches.
