Produced in 1921, the 1895 was a John Browning design, made with high performance cartridge with spitzer tip bullets in mind, and were very popular with hunters of large game such as President Theodore Roosevelt. Pinned blade front and folding ladder rear sights, with the standard two line address and patent markings on the left side of the frame, "PW/ .30/ ARMY" on top of the chamber and the 3-line model marking on the upper tang. Equipped with a saddle ring on the left side. Smooth straight grip stock, with a single barrel band, grasping grooves on the forearm and a smooth buttplate with trapdoor compartment and pull-through barrel brush.
Excellent, with 99% plus original high polish blue finish, showing some light handling marks overall, a few of dings on the right side of the frame opposite the saddle ring and a small amount of brown patina on the buttplate. Stock is excellent, with a scratch on the right side of the handguard and some mild dings. Mechanically excellent.
