This is an excellent example of an original Dutch Steyr Mannlicher Model 1895 rifle. These rifles were produced in two variations, this particular rifle for the regular army. The left side receiver wall is marked "STEYR 1914" and the top of the receiver ring is marked with a "crown/R" proof over the serial number, "7065". The "crown/R" proof is marked on most parts and the rifle has all matching serial numbers (except the cleaning rod, numbered 72) to include the stock and hand guard. All blue finish, 5 round clip loaded magazine, blade front sight, adjustable rear sight graduated to 2,000 meters, bayonet lug, steel slotted head cleaning rod and mounted with a smooth straight grip walnut stock, with matching handguard. The right side of the buttstock has the Hembrug, 1930 dated cartouche.
