The included factory letter with this Government Model pistol confirms the caliber, barrel length, blue finish, and that it was shipped to "Tool Shop & Hardware Company" on March 26, 1931, in a single gun shipment. The grips are not listed nor is the company address. The pistol features fixed sights, fully checkered walnut grips, the two line address and patent dates on the left side of the slide, "COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE .45" and the Rampant Colt logo on the right, and a matching serial number beneath the firing pin stop. The right side of the frame is marked "GOVERNMENT MODEL" above the serial number "C159773" with "60" and "1/VP" on the trigger guard. It comes with a much later production replacement "COLT/45 AUTO M/S" magazine. The pistol comes in a black factory box with Colt advertisements adhered on the interior and appropriate end labels. The box contains a bore brush, "Special Instructions" pamphlet, and Government Model manual.
