This 1857/1858 dated U.S. Model 1855 Harper's Ferry is iron mounted and features standard markings, the Maynard self-priming system and a cleanout screw, the correct early style brass forend cap, folding long range ladder rear sight graduated 1-4 on the base and 5-7 on the ladder, an original tulip head iron ramrod with swelled shank, flat barrel bands, oil finished stock with clear cartouches on the left flat and "41" marked head of the buttplate tang, lock dated "1857" behind the hammer, and "1858" dated barrel. It includes a barrel plug and a leather sling.
