Custom built by Kess Arms of Wisconsin, a custom rifle and gunsmith business active from at least 1955 to the early 1970s. Manufactured without sights on the medium weight, lightly tapered barrel marked "KESS ARMS CO./270 WIN". The receiver is a Belgian FN Mauser action with a Canjar M-3 set trigger and mounted with a bridge type Redfield scope base and swivel style rings with a Leupold VARI-X II 2x7 scope. Mounted on a fancy checkered Schnabel tip forearm and pistol grip stock with foliate carvings at the borders, quick release sling swivels, contrasting grip cap, raised comb and cheekpiece, and a Pachmayr vented recoil pad. Includes a leather sling.

Very fine as professionally built and refinished with 95% of the blue finish remaining, showing some light handling marks, light muzzle wear, and a few deep scratches on the barrel near the muzzle. The wood is very fine with some small handling marks, sharp checkering, and a few small scattered dings. Mechanically excellent. The scope is excellent with clear optics.
