The included factory letter states this fine Winchester double was ordered on October 16, 1946, and shipped to Von Lengerke & Antoine of Chicago, Illinois, on May 28, 1947, as a factory engraved two barrel set. The chambers are marked "2 3/4" and gauge at 3 inches with selective ejectors, a single bead sight, standard markings on the flats, and wedges of light scroll engraving around the breech. Features factory pattern 21-5 engraving on the receiver with game birds on the sides, and a single hunting dog on the underside surrounded by flourishes of fine floral and scroll engraving. With a single selective trigger and tang mounted automatic thumb safety with gold inlaid "SAFE" position. Fancy checkered beavertail forearm with engraved fittings and a straight grip buttstock with a solid Winchester recoil pad. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .614/.614 inch; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .038/.038 inch; minimum wall thickness .040/.040 inch; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 1/2 inches; length of pull 13 3/4 inches; 6 lbs. 14 oz. The extra barrel set is 26 inches with a concave solid rib, dual bead sights, 3 inch chambers, ejectors, matching engraving and "WS-1/WS-2" marked chokes. With a leather bound Perazzi takedown case.

Fine. The barrel rib is a Simmons marked non-factory addition and sits slightly off center from the original. 90% blue finish remains on the barrels with some small surface scratches, light spotting and forearm wear. The receiver has 70% thinning blue finish with crisp distinct engraving, some areas of a blue/gray patina, surface scratches, and traces of cold blue on the trigger guard. The wood is fine as refinished and recheckered with small scattered dings and scratches, visible repaired cracks on the left side of the forearm, and the added recoil pad. Mechanically excellent. The extra barrel set is fine with 75% of the blue finish, some light pitting around the muzzles, and areas of a thinning blue/gray patina near the breech. Case is excellent.
