There is a gold inlaid "1" just forward of the breech with a matching "1" on the break lever. Features full coverage fine leafy scroll engraving on the receiver with gold inlaid "J. WILKES" maker's marks on either side, dual triggers, and tang mounted automatic safety with gold "SAFE" marking. Finely checkered splinter forearm with Anson style latch and straight grip buttstock with blank silver initial oval and solid rubber pad. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .729/.734 inch; minimum wall thickness .022/.030 inch; drop at comb 1 7/16 inches; drop at heel 2 1/8 inches; length of pull 14 7/16 inches; 1/8 inch cast off; 1/8 inch toe in.

Fine as completely refurbished overall with 98% of the blue finish remaining, clear markings, sharp engraving, and some light pitting under the blue under the forearm. The receiver has a uniform attractive gray patina with fine engraving. The refinished wood is also very fine with sharp checkering and just a few light dings. Mechanically excellent.
