Browned damascus barrels with doll's head extension and single bead sight on the matted raised rib marked "WESTLEY RICHARDS. 170 NEW BOND St. LONDON. HIGHEST QUALITY", extractors, London black powder proof marks on the flats. The receiver is engraved with nearly full coverage fine English scroll designs and signed "WESTLEY RICHARDS" on the sides of the action and on top of the break lever, with an engraved game scene of a setter on the blued trigger guard. With smooth double triggers and tang safety with gold inlaid "SAFE." Checkered splinter forearm with horn wedge insert, and nicely figured semi-pistol grip stock with checkered side panels, drop points, blank silver initial oval on the grip ball, and hard rubber recoil pad.

Very fine with 95% of the rebrowned barrel finish and nice damascus pattern remaining, clear markings, and a few handling marks, and areas of wear. Barrels have been opened up from 11 bore to nominal 10 bore, chokes measure at .034/.035. Action and trigger plate retain approximately 30% of the original casehardened finish with crisp engraving. The action plate retains about 40% of the reblued finish with some softening of the engraving. The trigger guard retains 50% of the original blue finish. The wood is very fine with sharp checkering, various dents and dings, particularly on the bottom edge of the stock, and forend. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Malcolm King Collection.
