Approximately 7,348 Model 1795 muskets were manufactured by Harpers Ferry in the year 1809. The lock plate is marked "HARPERS/FERRY/1809" vertically at the rear, with the shield bearing "eagle/US" at the center. The serial number "118x7" (the x is an obliterated number) and two sunken oval proofs appear on the upper left quarter at the rear of the barrel. Bayonet lug on top of the barrel towards the muzzle, brass blade front sight on the rear strap of the front barrel band. Sling swivels on the middle band and ahead of the trigger guard. Very good with mostly bright surfaces and some scattered light pitting overall, moderate flash pitting, and some light wear to some of the markings in the metal. Stock is also very good with scattered light scratches and chips, and a gouge on the right rear of the buttstock. Mechanically fine. Included bayonet is good with mottled dark brown patina overall and scattered light pitting, sling is very good with some age related cracking and wear.
