Manufactured in 1877 with the standard two-line address on top of the barrel, "COLT NEW 22" on the left in an etched panel, patent date on the bottom along with matching serial number "8524", and full serial number on the butt. There are London proofs on the barrel and cylinder. It has standard features including smooth hardwood grips with the serial number hand marked inside the left panel. Includes a rare leatherette wrapped "pipe" style case with Colt London Agency gold embossed label on the lining of the lid and a cleaning rod.
Excellent, retains 95% plus of the original nickel finish with a small patch of thinning on the rear left of the frame showing an attractively aged brass and a crisp etched panel. The grips are also excellent with a few scattered light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine with some mild handling/storage wear.
