Manufactured 1910-1917 with the two-line address, patent date, and caliber marking on top of the barrel extension, as well as the Savage trademark on the left of the frame. This pistol is also factory inscribed on the back strap "MRS. BENJAMIN ADRIANCE.", which is surrounded by English style floral scroll. The consignor notes that Benjamin Adriance was a plant manager at Savage. It is fitted with a blade front sight and notch rear sight, as well as a pair of Type B smooth pearl grips with Savage medallions. Provenance: The Bailey Brower, Jr. Collection, author of “Savage Pistols”
Exceptionally fine, retains 85% plus of the original blue finish and 90% of the original case colors on the trigger with the face of the trigger guard having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina with some scattered small patches of light pitting. The grips are excellent with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
