These derringers were introduced in 1870, with this example being early production with the high profile hammer. The top of the barrel has a rounded blade front sight and "COLT" in large italic letters and the bottom of the barrel has small British proofs. The left of the frame is marked with a "C" and Rampant Colt. The back strap is retailer inscribed "F.T. Baker. 88. Fleet. St. London". It is fitted with a pair of factory matching number smooth antique ivory grips that are each hand numbered "5900" on the inside in ink.

Excellent, retains 97% plus of the original nickel finish with a barely noticeable patch of very light flaking on the left of the barrel and a series of minor scratches in the same area. The grips are also excellent with a few scattered light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
