Exceptional U.S. Winchester Model 12 Slide Action Trench Shotgun with Bayonet - Serial no. 1014641, 12 gauge, 20 inch round bbl., blue
finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1943. Single steel bead sight on the four-hole “W” marked heat shield/bayonet adaptor, 2 3/4 inch chamber, and a cylinder marked choke. The top of the barrel is marked with the “flaming bomb” proof followed by the Winchester oval “WP” proof at the breech. The right side of the receiver is marked with the “U.S. flaming bomb” roll mark. Full blue finish with the correct model marking on the barrel and matching serial numbers on the receiver and barrel collar. Mounted with an 18-groove round slide handle and smooth pistol grip stock with a “G.H.D.” cartouche over crossed cannons on the left side, and a hard rubber Winchester buttplate. Includes a correct Remington M1917 bayonet with scabbard and leather sling. Length of pull 14 inches. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 90% plus original blue finishes, light slide retraction evidence, and some areas of minor browning. The buttstock is excellent with scattered dings and scratches and crisp cartouches. The forend is very fine with scuffing and flaking. The leather sling and the bayonet are both fine with minor spotting. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The George Moller Collection. Estimate: 8,500 - 13,000
LOT 438 Excellent U.S. Winchester M1 Semi-Automatic Carbine - Serial no. 1110227, 30 M1 Carbine cal., 18 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, walnut stock. This is an outstanding original example of a correct World War II production Winchester M1 carbine. Blade front and two-leaf peep rear sights, Winchester marked barrel, Type I barrel band, correct blued flat bolt, checkered button safety, “W” magazine catch and recoil plate, milled guard and high wood stock with 2-rivet handguard, Ordnance cartouche and “W.R.A./G.H.D.” on the right buttstock, oval sling cutout and tan canvas sling. CONDITION: Excellent, with 95% of the original parkerized/blue finish, showing bright edge wear and mild handling marks. The stock is very fine, with scattered dings and scuffs. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 4,500 - 7,000
