Le Petit Protector Style “La Femme Fatale”
Ring Gun with Case - NSN, 2 mm pinfire cal.,
1/4 inch cluster bbl., blue/nickel finish. This
is an example of a unique 19th century style
custom made French pinfire ring gun which was subsequently made by unknown parties in the 20th century. These ring pistols are oddities and appeal
to collectors purely as conversation pieces. The band of the ring has a light floral type engraving and is marked “LA FEMME FATALE”. This ring gun features a small hand rotated 6-shot pinfire cartridge cylinder that must be removed for loading/unloading. The pins of the cartridges are struck by the base of the hammer. (Any pinfire cartridge is obsolete.) The included jewelry style case is unmarked but fitted for the ring/gun.
CONDITION: Very fine as custom made, retaining 98% of the blue finishes with some very light edge wear. Mechanically appears to function as it should. The case is fine with some minor handling/storage wear. Estimate: 4,500 - 6,500

Cased Lebeda Engineering LLC Percussion Ring Parlor and Saloon Pistol - NSN, 24
cal., 1 inch slab side bbl., blue/bright
finish, metal grips. This interesting ring
pistol was designed and manufactured
by master gunsmith Francis C. Lebeda.
It uses a percussion system and is
convertible from an over/under style
derringer to a five shot revolver. The over/under barrels are capable of firing
a .240 caliber round ball using a number
209 primer. This ring pistol also features
light engraving on the left side, bottom,
and top. The included revolver cylinder
uses .177 caliber balls. Included is a black
fabric covered case. A plaque on the case has the family history of master gunsmith Francis C. Lebeda.
CONDITION: Very fine as custom made, retaining 95% blue finish with crisp engraving on the brass ring. Mechanically excellent. Case is near mint with some minor edge wear on the lining. Estimate: 2,000 - 3,500
LOT 91
Cased “Le Petit Protector” Style Percussion Ring Gun - NSN, 4.5 mm cal., 1/4 inch bbl., nitre blue/German silver finish. This is a unique example of a French single shot percussion ring gun. The band of the ring is marked “LE PETIT PROTECTOR” flanked by a light floral engraving. German silver with the small parts blue finished iron. Includes a brown leather case with a Le Protector Paris silver oval plate on top of the lid. The interior of the case is lined in blue velvet and the inside of the lid is lined in silk. Includes two tools, two paper containers, five rounds, and caps.
CONDITION: Very good as custom made. The nitre blue surfaces have been artificially aged to a gray. Lightly polished engraving. Mechanically fine. Case is fine showing some light edge wear.
LOT 92
Lebeda Engineering LLC Ring Gun and Cane with Hand Grasp Case
- NSN, 4.5 mm cal., 3/4 inch cluster bbl., blue/bright finish, metal grips. Developed in Cedar Rapids, Iowa,
by Lebeda Engineering LLC, a firm which has created props for multiple movies including the cyanide injecting silver dollars used in the movie “Bridge of Spies”. The ring itself features a bright brass band with the remaining parts finished in nitre blue, including the five-shot, hand rotated cylinder. The revolver is chambered for a 4.5mm (.177) caliber brass pinfire cartridge. This unique/obsolete cartridge makes this neither a firearm, nor is it considered an “any other weapon”. The cane has a large copper disk shaped hand grasp that is a fitted case for the ring gun, the hardwood shaft is finished in black enamel
and mounted with a small copper plaque detailing the family history of Czech Lebeda gunsmiths, and
it has a copper tip. Included in the case/hand grasp is a screwdriver, and five pinfire cartridges. Includes shipping tube.
CONDITION: Very fine as custom made, retaining 97% plus blue finish with traces of a cylinder drag line, and some handling wear. Mechanically functions properly when hammer is pulled back just enough to set the trigger, about 3/8 inches or less. The cane is also very fine with all the black varnish remaining on the shaft and an attractive patina forming on the head, plaque, and tip.

70% nitre blue finish with some drag lines
on the cylinder and thinning on the outer band. Mechanically fine. Case is fine with some light handling marks.

The included brown leather felt lined case has gold bordering on the lid and a small circular German silver plaque marked “FEMME/FATALE”. The inside of the lid is lined in white silk and
is R. M. Waylett marked. Includes six pinfire cartridges and a screwdriver.
CONDITION: Very fine as custom made, retains 98% of the nitre blue finish with some very light edge wear. Mechanically fine. The case is fine with some minor handling/storage wear. Estimate: 2,750 - 4,250
