U.S. Model 1903 National Match Rifle with Original Star Gauge Record and Accessories - Serial no. 1361551, 30-06 cal., 24 inch bbl., parkerized finish, walnut stock. This is an exceptional example of a U.S. Springfield Model 1903 National Match service rifle
that was manufactured in 1929. Standard receiver markings over the serial number 1361551. The barrel is marked “SA/ordnance shell and
flame/11-29” with the small star-gauge marking on the muzzle crown. Includes original Star Gauging Record dated January 22, 1930. The barrel is fitted with the standard blade front sight and the folding ladder rear sight. Both are fitted with a set of “P.J. O’Hare” stamped sheet metal sight covers. It has a matching numbered “NS” marked, bright polished bolt. It is fitted with a standard two-bolt walnut pistol grip type stock. It is stamped on the left side with a faint boxed “DAL” cartouche with a single circled “P” proofs on the underside above the pistol grip. The lower rear underside area of the buttstock is stamped the matching serial number in front the sling swivels. It has the standard all milled components, with a heavily checkered NM type steel buttplate. It comes with a nickel plated oiler with a pull-through jag and brush inside, stored in the butt trap. CONDITION: Excellent with 98% of the original finish with light handling marks on the edges and high spots from handling over the years. The reoiled buttstock and handguard are both in very fine condition showing only minor handling marks in a couple places with a clear light cartouche on the side. Mechanically excellent. Excellent World War I U.S. Winchester Model 1917 Bolt Action Rifle with Bayonet - Serial no. 81820, 30-06 cal., 26 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. These 1917 rifles were the primary service rifle used by the American Expeditionary Forces throughout WWI and many saw service during the early days of WWII, making original unaltered examples very scarce. Barrel marked “W/flaming bomb/12-17” with fixed blade front and adjustable ladder and peep rear sights, standard receiver markings, and “eagle head” and “flaming bomb” proofs on the left receiver rail. With a “flaming bomb” stamped “NS” marked nickel steel bolt. Winchester manufactured pistol grip stock with an “W” stamped at the
nose, and flat steel buttplate with trapdoor. Includes “1917” dated Winchester bayonet with leather sheath. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 97% plus original blue finish with limited handling marks. Wood is also excellent with scattered dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. Bayonet is very good with dings and scratches on the grip scales. Provenance: The George Moller Collection. Ross Model 1905 Rifle with U.S. Markings and Bayonet - NSN, 303 British cal., 28 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Used by the Canadians as a main-line infantry rifle and acquired by the Americans as a training weapon. Hooded blade front and folding peep rear sight, with “ROSS RIFLE CO. QUEBEC CANADA. 1905./PATENTED.” on the left side of the receiver. The U.S. Army ordnance bomb is stamped behind the trigger guard along with the number “16001”. The right side of the butt stock is stamped with numerous issue and inspection markings”. Includes a knife bayonet and scabbard. CONDITION: Fine, retaining 70% original blue finish with scattered handling marks, and patches of light spotting. Wood is fine with handling marks, dings and scratches throughout, a crack on the forend just ahead of the receiver, and a splice near the front barrel band. Mechanically excellent. Rare U.S. Springfield Model 1905 Bayonet for a Maxim Silencer-Equipped Model 1903 Rifle - Manufactured in 1906, this bayonet is configured for use with a Maxim Silencer, which was seen in limited numbers on American-issued 1903 rifles during the First World War. The chief modification is the deletion of the conventional muzzle ring from the guard in place of a dovetail block sized for a slot on the underside of the silencer. Overall length is 20 1/2 inches, with a 16 inch straight single fuller blade, marked “US/67138” on the right ricasso and “S A/(bomb)/1906” on the left. The grip is ribbed hardwood, with a blued hilt. With an edge-stitched brown leather sheath, with a metal belt swivel and “R.I.A./1908/T.C.” stamped on the back. CONDITION: Very good. The blade has been polished, with mild spotting and a small amount
of pitting. The hilt retains 50% of the blue finish, showing some bright wear and areas of patina, and the grips show some minor edge chipping. The sheath is good, with some scuffing of the leather, the belt loop swiveling freely, and some mild pitting and a mixed brown patina on the metal. Provenance: The George Moller Collection.
