Rifle with Case and Accessories - Serial no. 0943, 7.92 x 33mm Kurz cal., 16 1/2 inch round
bbl., blue finish, hardwood stock. Manufactured about 2010 by Sport-System Dittrich of Germany and imported by PTR-91 Incorporated of Connecticut, this is a very scarce and desirable semi-automatic commercial copy of the
WWII German MP43/44 Sturmgewehr assault rifle. Blade front and notch rear sights, with the serial number and “PTR44” on the left side of the stamped sheet metal frame, and the SSD/PTR markings on the right
side of the frame, which is fitted with a tack-welded scope rail in emulation of some known wartime StGs which were equipped with ZF4 sniper scopes. Fitted with a pair of ribbed pistol grips and a hardwood buttstock with ribbed naked butt and steel reinforced toe and heel. Included with the rifle are a set of four extra magazines, a reproduction “last ditch/volksturm” pattern six-cell, two-pouch magazine carrier rig, manual, and a plastic case labeled to match the rifle. Notes from the consignor indicate that they procured the item new in 2010, only discharged about 160 rounds, and had the extractor and disconnector hardware tuned up by Recon Ordnance of Wisconsin. CONDITION: Excellent, with 99% original blue finish, showing hints of plum color on the gas system, along with some mild handling marks. The wood is also excellent, with a few light dings. Mechanically excellent.
