      County, Pennsylvania, is built in the style of a classic American half-stock percussion
rifle. The octagon barrel has a low dovetailed blade front sight and U-notch rear sight and is signed
“T.P. CHERINGTON.” A ramrod is fitted in the pipes on the under-rib, and the curly maple forend has a classic pewter cap. The
buttstock is an especially attractive piece of curly maple and has brass furniture
including a classic cap box on the right marked “TRYON/195” inside the lid.
CONDITION: Very good plus with attractive aged patina on the brass furniture and a mix of gray and brown patina and some light oil staining on the iron along with some minor pitting. The refinished wood is also very good with attractive flame figure, minor dents and scratches, and a slight chip at the toe. Mechanically fine. Estimate: 4,500 - 6,500
LOT 1104 American Swivel Breech Percussion Over/Under Rifle - NSN, 50 cal., 33 3/4 inch octagon bbl., brown/casehardened/bright finish, curly maple stock. This
attractive swivel breech rifle has no visible markings. Both barrels are rifled and feature dovetailed blade and notch sights. Ramrods are fitted between the
barrels on each side. The lock has an unmarked plate and some scroll engraving on the hammer. The barrel release is on the left side plate. The patch box and toe
plate have pierced finials, and the curly maple stock has a German silver wrist escutcheon and a deer inlay on the cheek rest.
CONDITION: Very good with dark brown patina on the barrels, some flash pitting at the breeches, gray and brown patina on the lock and side plate, and an attractive aged patina visible on the brass furniture. The stock is
also very good and has some dings and scratches, smooth finish, and beautiful flame figure. Mechanically fine. Estimate: 1,800 - 2,750

Engraved John Blanch & Son Percussion Rifle - Serial no. 1959, 40 cal., 19 3/4 inch octagon bbl., brown/casehardened/blue finish, walnut stock. The barrel has a bead style blade front sight, notch
rear sight, “JOHN BLANCH & SON LONDON” inscribed on top, and “1959,” Birmingham proofs, and “M&H” on the bottom. The breech plug, tang, lock, and furniture have primarily scroll engraving. The lock is also signed
“JOHN BLANCH & SON.” CONDITION: Fine with most of the refinished brown on the barrel, mostly gray and brown patina on the balance, some mild pitting, recut signature and breech plug engraving, replacement rear sight, and mild wear. The stock is fine with crisp checkering, general minor dings and scratches, some small period repairs, and smooth refreshed finish. Mechanically fine. Provenance: The Malcolm King Collection.  Rare Child Sized “Poor Boy” Percussion American Long Rifle - NSN, 36 cal., 28 inch octagon bbl., brown finish, maple stock. This diminutive rifle was likely built for a younger boy. The overall length is just 41 3/4 inches from heel to muzzle; shorter than just the barrel of many full-sized American long rifles. The bare crescent butt is also shaped for a small arm. No identifying markings are visible. It features blade and notch sights, double set triggers, light bird scene and scroll patterns on the lock, and a nicely shaped and figured stock with carved accent line on the cheek rest. CONDITION: Good overall with dark brown patina, mild oxidation, erosion at the breech, voids in the brass trigger guard, some chips and slivers absent from the stock, and moderate overall wear.
