Highly Desirable First Pattern Winchester Model 1873 Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine - Serial no. 14549, 44 WCF cal., 20 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1876 as a first model carbine with the distinctive dust cover held in place by grooved guides on either side of the receiver, dust over with
a checkered oval finger grip on top and lever latch with visible
      screw threads. The included Cody Firearms Records Office serial number confirmation list this
Model 1873 as a carbine when received in the warehouse on January 8, 1877, and shipped on July 25, 1877. The front sight is integral to the barrel band, and there is a two leaf rear sight. The barrel is stamped with the two-line address/patent dates marking. “MODEL 1873” is stamped on the upper tang. The carbine correctly lacks caliber markings. A saddle
ring is mounted on the left side of the receiver. Mounted on a carbine stock with trapdoor buttplate (cleaning rod not included).
CONDITION: Fine, retaining 40% plus original blue finish with the balance between smooth brown and gray patinas. 30% original nitre blue remain on the loading gate. Traces of original case colors remain on the hammer and lever. The wood is also fine with a stress crack near the buttplate tang and minor to moderate dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.

Model 1886 Lever Action Rifle in Highly
Desirable .50-100-450 with Factory
Letter - Serial no. 103381, 50-100-450 cal., 26
inch octagon bbl., blue/casehardened finish,
walnut stock. Manufactured in 1895. Standard two-line address
 and desirable “50-100-450” caliber marking on the top of the barrel at the breech, model designation on the upper tang, and two-line patent marking and serial number on the lower tang. Fitted with dovetailed German silver blade front and elevation adjustable buckhorn rear sights. Mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration as well as receipt at the warehouse on 31 July 1895 and shipment on 7 August 1895 in order number 17152.
CONDITION: Good, retains strong traces of original blue finish, mostly in sheltered areas, with the balance a plum- brown patina and a silvery-grey patina in place of the case colors. The wood is also good with minor dings and scratches scattered throughout. Mechanically excellent.
