Action Army
Revolver with Factory Letter - Serial no.
345754, 38 WCF cal., 7 1/2 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, hard rubber grips. The included factory letter confirms the 7 1/2 inch barrel in .38-40 and blue finish. The revolver was sold and shipped to Murta Appleton & Co. of Philadelphia, PA on August 25, 1923. Standard one line address on top of the barrel, caliber marking on the left of the barrel, and two-line patent dates followed by Rampant Colt on the left of the frame. Matching numbers on the frame and right side of the grips straps, and hand marked on the inside of each grip panel. The left side of the forward grip strap carries an additional number “341442” which in the writer’s opinion is a factory error.
CONDITION: Fine, retaining 90% factory refinished blue finish and 75%
case colors with some handling marks, a cylinder drag line, and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Double Action Revolver - Serial
no. 46846, 45 LC cal., 6 inch round bbl., blue finish, hard rubber grips.
The included factory letter lists this revolver as having a 6 inch barrel
chambered in .45 caliber with blue finish and stocks not listed when
shipped to United States Government Commanding Officer Springfield
Armory in Springfield, Massachusetts on October 8, 1902. In 1902 the
Ordnance department purchased 4,600 Model 1902 revolvers in the serial
number range of 43,401 to 48,097. The revolver has the distinctive oversized
trigger and trigger guard that are characteristic of the Model 1902 Revolvers.
The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address, “45 COLT” on the
left side and the circled Rampant Colt on the lower left rear of the frame. The
upper left front of the trigger guard and the left rear of the frame is marked
with the inspectors initials “R.A.C.” The right of the frame is marked “J.T.T.”,
“1902”, and “U.S.” The complete serial number “46/846” is marked on the toe
of the butt and the partial serial number “6846” is marked on the loading
gate and rear of the cylinder. There is a “P” and “K” marked on the bottom of
the barrel directly ahead of the frame. Fitted with blade and frame groove
sights, checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the
top, and lanyard loop on the butt.
CONDITION: Fine, retaining 40% plus original blue finish with a smooth gray and brown patina on the balance. Grips are also fine with some softened checkering, and clear motif. Mechanically fine.

Double Action Revolver with Factory Letter - Serial
no. 20213, 44-40 WCF cal., 4 inch round bbl., nickel finish,
hard rubber grips. The included factory letter lists this
revolver as having a 4 inch barrel in 44 caliber with nickel finish and stocks not listed when shipped to E. C. Meacham Arms Company in St. Louis, Missouri on February 26, 1889. Blade front and frame notch rear sight, ejectorless four inch barrel marked “COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER” on the left and “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. Co/HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A.” on the top, and checkered hard rubber grips with rampant colt in oval motif. CONDITION: Good, retaining traces of original nickel finish with the majority of surfaces a smooth gray and brown
patina and a couple small
patches of light pitting. Grips
are fine replacements with an attractive aged coloration, crisp checkering and clear motifs. Mechanically fine.

Action Army Revolver with
Factory Letter - Serial no. 248088, 38 WCF cal., 4 3/4 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, hard rubber grips. The included factory letter lists this revolver with 4 3/4 inch barrel chambered in .38/40, blue finish, and stocks not listed when shipped to Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. in Chicago Illinois on September 11, 1903. Features blade front and frame notch rear sights with Bisley Model barrel markings, two line-three date patent marking followed by circled rampant colt, and hard rubber grips with rampant colt in an oval motif.
CONDITION: Very good, retaining 50% original blue finish and traces of case colors with a smooth gray and brown patina on the balance. Grips are very fine with slightly softened checkering and a clear motif.
Mechanically excellent.

Fine Antique Colt Model 1878 Double Action Revolver
- Serial no. 39322, 38 WCF cal., 7 1/2 inch round bbl., blue
finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured in 1898. The barrel
has the one-line Hartford address on top and “38 W.C.F.” on the
left side. A circled Rampant Colt logo is stamped on the left side of
the frame. The cylinder is numbered to the gun (“322”).
CONDITION: Fine, retaining 50% original blue finish with a smooth brown-gray patina on the balance and a series of small dings ahead of the ejector rod housing. The grips are excellent showing very minimal minor handling marks and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically functions fine, although the cylinder does not lock properly. A fine antique Colt Model 1878 DA revolver.

Action Army Revolver - Serial no. 149686,
41 Long Colt cal., 4 3/4 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, hard
rubber grips. Manufactured in 1893. Features a repaired front blade and
frame notch rear sight with caliber marking on the left of the barrel and
two line address on the top, matching serial numbers on the frame, front strap, and back strap, and two piece hard rubber grips with a triangle and arrow motif scratched into the bottom of each panel.
CONDITION: Very good, retaining 30% original blue finish and traces of case colors with the balance a smooth gray and brown patina as well as dings and scratches. Grips are good with softened heavily worn checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,800 - 2,750
