Antique Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Takedown Rifle in Desirable .38-55 W.C.F. - Serial no. 27535, 38-55 WCF cal., 26 inch octagon bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1895. This Model 1894 Lever Action takedown rifle features a full length magazine tube with June 6, 1893 patent date on the takedown lever, drift adjustable German silver blade front sight, two-line address on the top flat
ahead of the elevation adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight, and “38-55” caliber marking on top barrel flat at the breech. The rifle has an overall blue finish with nitre blue loading gate, and casehardened hammer, trigger, and lever. The upper tang is marked with the correct three-line model, maker, and patent marking and fitted with an unmarked adjustable medium range peep sight. The left side of the lower tang (under the wood) is marked “4644 XXXS”. Fitted with a smooth walnut forearm and attractive straight grip replacement stock with casehardened crescent buttplate. The interior of the buttplate and end of the replacement stock are unmarked. CONDITION: Fine with 70% original blue finish remaining, areas of high point and edge wear, takedown marks on the magazine tube, patches of brown/gray patina on the receiver, visible light pitting on the receiver, and visible marring on some of the screw heads. Loading gate retains 30% original nitre blue. The lever, hammer, and trigger retain 75% original dark case colors with light silvering and some patchy spotting. The refinished replacement wood is also fine with small scattered dings and mottled gray/brown patina on the buttplate. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Brandhorst Collection. Estimate: 2,500 - 3,750 LOT 3028 Winchester Model 1895 Lever Action Rifle - Serial no. 27488, 30-40 Krag cal., 28 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1900 (Winchester Arms Collectors Association) with two-line address/patent marking on the left of the receiver, two-line nickel steel and caliber markings on the barrel, model designation on the upper tang, and serial number on the lower tang. Fitted with pinned German silver blade front and elevation adjustable peep rear sights. Mounted with a smooth Schnabel tip forearm with ebony insert and a straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Very fine retaining 70% plus original blue with the loss concentrated at the receiver, nearly all of the case colors on the hammer, and some areas of light spotting. The wood is fine with five notches cut in the toe of the buttstock and pressure dents and a chip from the left of the upper tang. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,800 - 2,750

Documented Winchester Model 1886 Lever Action Rifle in Scarce .40-70 W.C.F. with Factory Letter - Serial no. 87781, 40-70 cal., 26 inch octagon bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1894. Standard two-line address and “40-70 W.C.F.” on the top of the barrel at the breech, model designation on the upper tang, and two-line patent marking and serial number on the lower tang. Fitted with dovetailed German silver blade front and elevation adjustable buckhorn rear sights. Mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration as well as receipt at the warehouse on 10 May 1894 and shipment on 21 May 1894 in order number 13912. CONDITION: Very good, retains 25% plus original blue finish with the balance mostly a plum brown patina and strong flashes of original case colors primarily on the left side of the receiver with the balance a silvery-grey patina speckled with brown. The lightly sanded and reoiled wood is good with some minor dings and scratches scattered throughout, and a couple hairline cracks in the wrist. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,250 - 3,500

Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Takedown Rifle -
Serial no. 369170, 32 W.S. cal., 26 inch octagon bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1907. Combination beach front and 32 W.S. smokeless rear sights, standard Winchester markings including the factory oval proof on top of the barrel and receiver at the breech and half length magazine. Mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 80% plus original blue finish, 60% original nitre blue on the loading gate, muted patterns of case colors on the lever, 70% of the case colors on the hammer, scattered light spotting, and light handling evidence overall. Wood is also very fine. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,000 - 3,000
LOT 3031 Winchester Model 1873 Lever Action Rifle with Factory Letter - Serial no. 40564, 44-40 WCF cal., 26 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1878 as a Second Model with dust cover rail secured to the receiver by two screws and dust cover with serrations at the rear. Two-line address/King’s patent marking on the barrel between the replacement dovetailed horn blade front and replacement elevation adjustable notch rear sights. Model designation marked on the upper tang and serial number on the lower. Mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a trapdoor crescent buttplate (cleaning rod not included). The included factory letter confirms the current configuration except for the sights which are listed as “buckhorn”, as well as receipt at the warehouse on 8 January 1880 and shipment on 1 March 1880 in order number 19298. CONDITION: Very good, retains 25% original blue finish and faint traces of original case color patterns with the balance a mixture of brown and grey patinas. The revarnished wood is good with numerous dings and scratches scattered throughout. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,600 - 2,500
