Exceptional Pre-World War II Colt Government Model Semi-Automatic Pistol with Box - Serial no. C159438, 45 ACP
cal., 5 inch round bbl.,
blue finish, walnut grips.
Manufactured in 1932,
this is an exceptional
example of a pre-World
War II commercial Colt
Government Model
pistol. The left side of the
matching number slide
has the two-line
address/patent
dates, and the right
side has the caliber
marking followed by a
Rampant Colt. The left of
the trigger guard is marked
“1/VP”, and the right is
marked “60”. The right
side of the frame has
the Government Model
marking over the
serial number. It has
the “improved model”
features including
the short checkered
trigger, wide checkered hammer, dished frame sides,
and arched checkered mainspring housing with a
lanyard loop. Fitted with full checkered grips and an unmarked two-tone magazine. Includes a later production Government Model factory maroon box numbered to a different gun.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 90% plus of the original blue finish with the balance mostly a smooth grey patina, primarily concentrated on the forward edges of the slide, particularly a small patch of very light surface pitting on the left. The grips are also excellent a few scattered very light blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is fair with some mild wear, tears, and tape repairs.

Colt Military
Model 1902
Semi-Automatic
Pistol - Serial no. 42661, 38 Colt auto cal., 6 inch round bbl.,
blue finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured in 1920, this is an
outstanding example of a late production Colt Military Model of
1902 pistol, displaying the later production features such as the spur
hammer which began to appear at approximately serial number 30900 as well as
the less reflective finish which began to be applied at serial number 37000. The left
side of the slide is marked with the two-line, two-block patent dates and address with
the Rampant Colt behind the triangular serrations, while the caliber marking on the
right. The left of the trigger guard is marked “1/VP”, and the right is marked “47”. Fitted
with blade and rounded top notch sights, checkered spur hammer, checkered hard
rubber grips with “COLT” banners and Rampant Colts, and a lanyard ring on the left of
the grip frame.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 95% plus of the original blue finish with the balance
having thinned to a smooth grey patina, primarily on the left leading edges of the
slide and in the form of some light handling marks on the grip straps. The grips are also excellent showing an attractive slight chocolate hue, very minimal handling marks, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,000 - 4,500

Colt Ace Semi- Automatic Pistol with Box - Serial no. 5743, 22 LR cal., 4 3/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1934. Blade front and adjustable notch rear sights, the two- line address and patent dates
on the left side
of the slide,
the Rampant
Colt ahead of the serrations, and the Colt Ace logo and caliber markings on the right. The frame is marked “12” on the right side of the
trigger guard,
“3/VP” on the
left and fitted
with a short
checkered trigger,
wide checkered hammer, checkered arched mainspring housing, a set of fully checkered grips, and a two-tone magazine with Colt Ace marked base. Includes the original box and an extra later production
replacement magazine
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 98% plus of the original high polish blue finish with some scattered very light handling marks, scratches on the bottom of the forward slide, and edge wear. The grips are also excellent with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is fair with tape repaired edges and otherwise mild wear.

Outstanding Colt Model
1903 Pocket Hammer Semi-
Automatic Pistol - Serial no.
43887, 38 ACP cal., 4 1/2 inch round bbl., blue finish, hard rubber
grips. Manufactured in 1921 with fixed sights, the two-line/two-
block patent dates and address on the left side of the slide ahead
of the Rampant Colt, and the caliber markings on the right ahead
of the ejector port. This pistol exhibits the later grey/blue factory finish that was
adopted around serial number 36000. The trigger guard is marked “VP” and “1” on
the left side, with a checkered casehardened spur hammer, smooth trigger, “CAL. 38/
COLT” marked full blue magazine, and a pair of hard rubber grips with Colt banners
and Rampant Colt imprints.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 95% plus of the original high polish blue finish and 90%
of the vivid original case colors on the hammer with some scattered light edge wear showing a smooth grey patina. The faded grips are very fine with a few light handling marks, a minor ding in the right panel, and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Gus Cargile Collection.
