Commercial/Military
Semi-Automatic Pistol with Factory
Letter - Serial no. 861198, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, plastic grips. This pistol was originally manufactured in 1941-1942 as a Commercial Government Model, but before leaving the Colt factory was transferred to Colt’s war time contract.
It is one of 6,575 unsold Commercial Government
Model frames that were transferred and in late-1942
to early-1943 had the Government Model markings
and serial number crudely removed and replaced
with the standard military nomenclature. They were
then serialized in the 860003-867000 serial range,
which includes this example, assembled, and finished
to fill the government orders. The included factory
letter confirms the current configuration, with grips
not listed, as well as shipment to the transportation officer
at Springfield Armory on 18 December 1942. It has standard markings and features of these Commercial/Military models including “G.H.D.” inspection and “P” proof marks and a full blue “S” and “C-S” marked magazine.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 99% of the arsenal parkerized finish a few scattered light handling marks. The grips are also excellent with a few scattered minor blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Model 1911A1 Semi-Automatic
Pistol with British Proofs - Serial
no. 1639565, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch
round bbl., parkerized finish, plastic
grips. Manufactured in 1944, during
the height of World War II. The left side of the slide is marked with the
two-line/two-block address separated by the Rampant Colt, “G.H.D.”
inspected frame with “P/VP” proof, matching “P” proofs on the frame and
slide, and standard U.S. property and army nomenclature on the right of the
frame. British proofs are visible on the frame, slide, and barrel. Fitted with blade and notch sights, checkered slide catch, thumb safety, and narrow hammer, long grip safety, and arched serrated mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Fitted with a full blue unmarked magazine, full blue barrel marked “COLT 45 AUTO”, “P” on the lug, and “F” on the bottom ahead of the lug, and reinforced checkered grips.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 97% plus of the original parkerized finish with cycling wear, a few scattered light handling marks, and a light takedown mark.
The grips are also excellent with a few scattered very light blemishes in the otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Fine World War I U.S. Colt Model
1911 Semi-Automatic Pistol -
Serial no. 144018, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch
round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips.
Manufactured in 1917 and shipped to Rock Island Arsenal on 18 April
1917, well before the end of World War I. The left of the slide is marked
with the two-line, two-block patent dates and address with the Rampant
Colt behind the serrations, while the right has the standard “MODEL OF
1911 U.S. ARMY” marking. The left of the frame has the U.S. property marking and “GHS” inspection mark and the serial number is on the left. The later replacement barrel is marked “P/H” on the chamber. Fitted with blade and notch sights, wide checkered hammer, long smooth trigger, short grip safety, diamond pattern checkered grips, and a post-World War I commercial replacement full blue magazine marked “COLT/45 AUTO” on the base. CONDITION: Fine, retains 70% of the original
blue finish with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina, primarily on the grip straps and edges. The grips are also fine with a few scattered light blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless Semi-
Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 558642, 32 ACP cal.,
3 3/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips.
Manufactured in 1942, this Model 1903 pistol has the two-line address/
patent marking and Rampant Colt on the left of the slide and the caliber
marking on the right. The chamber of the barrel and slide near the ejector
port has standard British proofs. The right side of the frame has the U.S. property markings along with British proofs while the serial number is on the left. It has standard features and is fitted with checkered grips with Colt medallions.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 97% plus of the original blue finish with some scattered light handling marks and very light edge wear. The
grips are also excellent with a few scattered
minor blemishes in the overall crisp checkering.
Mechanically excellent.

mainspring housing, full blue barrel
with “P” and “F” lug, reinforced grips,
and full blue “S” magazine. Includes a U.S. Enger-Kress
1944 dated shoulder holster, 1942 dated Ero Mfg. Co. double magazine pouch with two extra magazines, a green canvas bag, and a plastic holster shaped cover.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 98% plus of the original parkerized finish with some very light holster wear, slide retraction marks on the barrel, and a light takedown mark. The grips are also excellent with a few scattered light blemishes and otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The accessories are very good or better with some light wear and some light oxidation on the magazines.
