   Winchester Model 1892 Lever Action Rifle with Desirable Special Order 30 Inch Extra Length Barrel - Serial no. 453555, 38 WCF cal., 30 inch octagon bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1908 with standard markings including Winchester factory oval proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech. The special order 30 inch barrel is fitted with German silver blade front and elevation adjustable buckhorn rear sights. These special order extra length barrels were only offered from 1892-1908, making them quite scarce. Mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate. CONDITION: Fine, retains 60% of the original blue finish overall, traces of the original case colors in sheltered areas, and 25% of the original nitre blue with the balance having thinned to a mixture of brown and grey patinas. The lightly sanded and reoiled wood is very good with minor dings and scratches scattered throughout. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,000 - 4,500

Winchester Model 1873 Lever Action Rifle Chambered in the Desirable .22 Short Caliber with Factory Letter - Serial no. 250419B, 22 short cal., 24 inch octagon bbl., blue/nickel finish, walnut stock. The included factory letter states it was received in warehouse on October 01, 1887, and shipped from warehouse October 14, 1887, order number 285. The letter confirms the rifles configuration. It has a dust cover base integrally machined as part of the receiver. The top of the barrel flat ahead of the rear sight is marked with two-line address/King’s Improvement marking, and “22 SHORT” is at the breech. The upper tang is marked “MODEL. 1873.” The serial number is on the lower tang, and the bottom of the brass cartridge elevator is marked “22 CAL./SHORT”. It is equipped with adjustable dovetailed pinched front, buckhorn rear sporting sights and a tang peep sight. Mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate. Winchester manufactured approximately 19,552 Model 1873s in .22 short or .22 long between 1884 and 1904. CONDITION: Good as partially refinished (wood and cold blue touch up on chamber area of barrel). 20% of the original blue finish remains. The replaced buttplate retains 75% of the flaking nickel plating. The balance displays primarily a brown patina with some light spotting and pitting. The reoiled wood is very good with a few minor pressure marks and slight chips. The action functions fine, and the markings are crisp. Estimate: 2,250 - 3,250
     LOT 3038 Winchester Model 1873 Lever Action Rifle with Factory Letter - Serial no. 366889B, 38 WCF cal., 24 inch octagon bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. The accompanying factory letter confirms the octagon barrel in .38 caliber and plain trigger. The rifle was received in the warehouse on February 25, 1891 and shipped on August 3, 1891. The third model receiver features an integral dust cover guide rail and dust cover with serrated finger grip on
the rear. The rifle is fitted with a dovetail blade front sight, elevation adjustable buckhorn rear sight and Lyman tang
peep sight. The barrel is stamped with the two-line legend ahead of the rear sight and “38 WCF” at the breech. The cartridge elevator is marked “38 CAL.” The straight grip stock is fitted with a trapdoor buttplate (cleaning rod not included). CONDITION: Fine, retaining 40% original blue finish with a smooth brown patina on the balance. Traces of original nitre blue remain on the loading
gate. 80% original case colors remain on the hammer. The wood is also fine with minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,000 - 3,000
  Scarce Documented Special Order Winchester Model 1876 Lever Action Short Rifle with Factory Letter - Serial no. 40763, 45-60 cal., 24 inch part octagon bbl., blue/casehardened finish,
walnut stock. The accompanying factory letter confirms the special order 24 inch half octagon barrel (shorter than standard 28 inches) in .45-60 caliber, casehardened receiver and plain trigger. The rifle was received in the warehouse on September 6, 1884 and shipped on September 8. The rifle is fitted with a German silver blade front sight, an elevation adjustable rear sight and Vernier tang peep sight. The top barrel flat is stamped with the two-line legend ahead of the rear sight and “CAL. 45-60” at the breech. “45-60” is also marked on the cartridge elevator. The straight grip stock is fitted with a trapdoor buttplate (cleaning rod not included). CONDITION: Very good, retaining strong traces of original blue and silvered out patterns of original case colors with a smooth brown patina on the balance. The dust cover is a lightly pitted replacement. The wood is fine with minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 3,500 - 5,500

Winchester Model 1873 Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine in 32 W.C.F. with Factory Letter - Serial no. 696666B, 32 WCF cal., 20 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1912 as a Third Model 1873 saddle ring carbine. It has standard markings including Winchester factory oval proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech. Fitted with blade front, folding ladder rear, and tang mounted peep sights, as well as a saddle ring on the left side of the receiver. Mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a carbine buttplate. The included factory letter confirms the carbine in .32 W.C.F. was received at the warehouse on 25 March 1913 and shipped to Simmons Hardware Co. in St. Louis on 3 November 1913. CONDITION: Very good, retains 30% plus of the original blue finish, primarily on the barrel and magazine, with the balance a mottled brown-grey patina and a few scattered patches of light pitting. The refinished wood is good with a stabilized crack near the upper tang running the length of the right of the buttstock and part of the left and otherwise some scattered minor dings. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,600 - 2,500
