Exceptional and Rare DWM Model
1906 “Royal Portuguese Navy” Contract
Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 280, 9 mm Luger cal., 3 7/8 inch round bbl.,
blue finish, walnut grips. This is a scarce example of a DWM Model 1906 Portuguese Luger contract pistol. These were actually produced for the “Royal Portuguese Navy”, circa
1910 when the Republic of Portugal was established. It has the standard commercial rust blued finish with straw colored smaller parts and checkered walnut grips. It is estimated that a total of approximately 1,000 were
produced, with the highest known serial number to date of 769. The top of the chamber is marked with the: “Portuguese Crown over a Single Fouled Naval Anchor” with the “DWM” logo on the front toggle. This first model has the earlier 1906 style frame with grip safety, no stock lug, with the correct polished lower safety area (with no markings) and the “CARREGADA” marked
extractor. The lower left side of the barrel extension is also correctly stamped with the Portuguese “MP” proof with no other inspection or acceptance proofs on the pistol. As noted this model is numbered in the correct commercial manner, with no letter suffix, with the barrel and frame numbered (280) with the
various other parts correctly numbered with the last two digits. It is fitted with an early nickel plated magazine with a commercial wooden base that is stamped with “Cal 9 M/M” lengthwise on the base.
CONDITION: Excellent with 97% plus of the original blue finish overall with some extremely light specks of surface rust visible on the lower grip straps. The various
smaller parts retain 97% of their original straw colors fading slightly. The grips are also excellent with nice distinct checkering on both sides with
only a few minor nicks/handling marks in a couple of places. This is the finest “Royal Portuguese Navy” Luger we have sold and possibly one of the finest known Portuguese Navy Contract Luger pistols.

CONDITION: Fine, with 60% plus original blue finish, showing bright edge wear and mild spotting overall. The grip straps show a mixed gray color, with heavier pitting present. 50% of the original straw colors remain. The grips are very good, with a mended chip on the left panel near the safety lever and mild dings and dents. The holster is good, with cracking and scuffing, as well as a replaced closure strap. Mechanically excellent.

Scarce German Krieghoff Early S-Code Variation Luger Semi-
Automatic Pistol with Holster - Serial no. 1387, 9 mm cal., 4 inch round bbl.,
blue finish, walnut grips. This is a scarce
example of a Krieghoff “S” code German P.08 Luger
that was manufactured in limited quantities for the Luftwaffe. This Luger is marked with the “S” code over the chamber which
was the code indicating manufacture circa early 1936. The pistol is an early “B2” variation marked “H (anchor) K/SUHL” on the toggle. The full serial number is marked
on the front of the frame and the left side of the receiver, with the final 3 digits on the breech block and the final 2 digits on multiple components. The Krieghoff “eagle/2”
proofed sideplate carrier the number “13” below proof internally and “87” externally, which together equals the full serial number “1387”. The right side of the barrel extension is marked
with the large “Eagle/2” Luftwaffe acceptance mark followed by the Luftwaffe test proof and small “Eagle/2” proof. The underside of the barrel is marked only with the bore and the “Eagle/2” proof.
The left side of the breech block is marked with the test proof and the parts stamp. The parts stamp is also present on the underside of the toggle link. The grips are checkered walnut and are not
numbered or proofed. The replacement magazine has a blued body with aluminum base that is numbered “2026/k” and has an “eagle/63” proof. With a black leather “cxb/41”
