Rare Documented Colt Pony Semi-Automatic Pistol with Factory
Letter and Original Box - Serial no. CPA001048, 380 ACP cal., 3 inch
round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in the mid-1970’s,
this is one of only 47-57 Colt Pony pistols ever produced. The parts for
these pistols were produced by Firearms International Corp. on leftover
machinery from the Colt Cub project, with the parts being subsequently sent to Colt for finishing and assembly. Colt scrapped the project early on and is said to have retained 10 or 11 of the pistols for Colt executives, returning the remaining parts to F.I.C. for sale. The left side of the slide is marked “COLT PONY/CALIBER .380 AUTOMATIC” followed by a Rampant Colt and the right side is marked with the Colt address, also with a Rampant Colt. Fitted with blade and adjustable notch sights, checkered grips with Colt medallions, and a lanyard ring stud on the butt. Includes a factory wood grain box with a label correctly numbered to the gun. The included factory letter lists this pistol as one of the 10 pistols that were retained in-house by Colt for presentation.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 99% plus of the original blue finish with only the slightest handling marks and the frame showing a distinct plum hue. The grips are also excellent with only the slightest handling marks and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine with some mild wear and couple torn corners of the lid.

Collector’s Lot of Four World War I Colt Commemorative Semi-Automatic Pistols with Matching Serial Numbers -A) Rare Master Engraved Gold Inlaid by Alvin White Colt “Chateau Thierry” Commemorative Deluxe 1911 Pistol - Serial no. 22CT, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. This is the special deluxe edition gold inlaid Chateau Thierry commemorative
pistol. Only 25 of each of the 4 World War I commemoratives was a Special Deluxe.
They cost $1000 each in 1967! The Special Deluxe consisted of special hand engraved
guns with full coverage, Even the slide scene was hand engraved. There are gold
inlaid bands at the front and rear of the slide, and the banner with “1917 WORLD
WAR I COMMEMORATIVE 1967” is outlined in gold. This work was done by Alvin
White, world famous engraver of Sandwich, Mass., who contracted with Colt to do
these guns. This is verified by an ingot set into the frame under
the right grip which has the raised marking “Colts A.A. WHITE
ENGR.” Checkered walnut grips with bronze medallions reading:
“1917-1918: WORLD WAR” and “CHATEAU THIERRY” on the left
grip, and on the right grip is another medallion listing our allies
in the war. All metal is in full high polish royal blue finish. One of
a set of four serialized alike.
CONDITION: Excellent overall with 99% original royal blue finish.
The chamber area of the barrel does show some light spotting.
B) Colt WWI Commemorative “Belleau Wood” Model 1911 Pistol - Serial no. 22BW, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1968 with standard markings and features of the commemorative. CONDITION: Excellent overall with 99% plus original blue finish. There is some spotting on the polished sides of the hammer and in the slide serrations as well as some very minor surface scratches. The grips have some light handling marks.
C) Colt WWI Commemorative “Meuse Argonne” Model 1911 Pistol - Serial no. 22MA, 45 ACP cal., 5
inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1969 with standard markings and features of the commemorative.
CONDITION: Excellent overall with 99% original blue finish, minimal light handling marks and some very light spotting on the chamber area of the barrel.
D) Colt WWI Commemorative “The 2nd Battle of The Marne” Model 1911 Pistol - Serial no. 22M2, 45 ACP cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, hardwood grips. Manufactured in 1968 with standard markings and features of the commemorative.
CONDITION: Excellent overall with 99% original blue finish. Some of the gold wash in the lettering and engravings has faded.
