Excellent Pre-World War II Colt Super 38 Semi-Automatic Pistol with Box, Accessories and Factory Letter - Serial no. 4470, 38 super cal., 5 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. According to the included factory letter, this pistol was part of a five-piece shipment on October 15, 1929, to the Tufts-Lyon Arms Company
of Los Angeles, California. The letter confirms the major features, minus the traditional “Not Listed” grips. Fixed blade front sight and flat top square notch adjustable rear sight on the matching serialized slide with the caliber marking on the right and the two-line
Colt address and patent dates
on the left. Blue barrel with a factory polished chamber and no markings. Short checkered milled trigger, checkered magazine catch, slide stop, wide hammer, long grip safety, and an arched checkered mainspring housing. Fitted with fully checkered grips and a two-tone “COLT SUPER/38
AUTO” marked magazine.
The included “black box” is
matching numbered on the
underside, with Super .38
label on the end, containing
an instruction sheet, “Special Instructions”
and “Proper Ammunition” info sheets, and a
Super .38 pamphlet. A floral tooled S.D. Myres
holster, floral tooled Bud Dolcater magazine
pouch with a two-tone “COLT SUPER/38 AUTO” marked magazine and box of Winchester Super 38 cartridge box holding two rounds are also included.
CONDITION: Excellent, with 95% plus original blue finish, showing some light handling
marks, bright edge wear, and a few small areas of dark surface corrosion on bottom front
grip strap. The grips are very fine, with some dings and flat spots. The box is fair, with some absent sections, tearing of the edges, and mild stains and wear overall. Mechanically excellent.

Pre-War Colt Vest Pocket Model 1908 Semi-Automatic Pistol with Pearl Grips and Box - Serial no. 340386, 25 ACP cal., 2 inch round bbl., blue finish, pearl grips. Manufactured in 1924 with standard two-line address/patent dates and Rampant Colt on the left of the slide, caliber marking on the right, serial number on the left of the frame, “1/VP” and “89” marked trigger guard, and standard features. Includes an unnumbered correct Colt maroon box and an
extra magazine.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 98% plus of the original blue and 85% casehardened finishes with some light edge and trigger wear. The grips are very fine with a short hairline age crack in the left panel. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine with some mild tearing and wear on corners.

Outstanding Documented Pre-World War II Colt Model
1903 Pocket Hammerless Semi- Automatic Pistol with Original Box and Factory Letter - Serial
no. 539540, 32 ACP cal., 3 3/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1939 with the standard two-line address/patent dates and Rampant Colt on the left of the slide and the caliber markings
on the right. Trigger guard marked “X/VP” and “75”, the serial number
on the left of the frame, and standard features. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration with the grips not listed as well as shipment to Blish, Mize & Silliman Hardware Co. in Atchison, Kansas
on 6 October 1939. Also included
is the original Colt maroon box.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains
99% plus of the original blue
finish with a few scattered very
light scratch marks visible on the front grip strap. The grips are also excellent with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is also excellent with some very light corner storage wear. One will look a long time to find another example like this!

Excellent Documented Pre-War Colt Vest Pocket Model 1908 Semi-Automatic Pistol with Factory Letter, Holster, and Original Box - Serial no. 355213, 25 ACP cal., 2 inch round bbl., nickel finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1926 with standard two-line address/patent dates and Rampant Colt
on the left of the slide, caliber marking on the right, serial number on the left of the frame, “W/VP” and “25” marked trigger guard, and standard features. The included factory letter confirms the current configuration (including checkered wood grips!) as well as shipment to York-Ambrose Arms Co. on 10 February 1926. Includes the original Colt maroon box (with scarce end label wood/nickel) and an “H.HEISER” marked tooled
leather holster.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 99%
plus of the original nickel finish
with some light handling evidence.
The grips are excellent with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
The box is very good with some
mild wear, and the holster is fine
with light wear.
