LOT 588 U.S. Guide Lamp M3 Submachine Gun, Class III/NFA C&R Fully Transferable Machine Gun - Serial no. 0065946, 45 ACP cal., 8 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, metal stock, metal grips. Drawing inspiration from the British STEN gun, the M3 was developed as a high-speed, low-cost substitute for the Thompson family of submachine guns. Blade front and peep rear sights, model nomenclature and Guide Lamp markings on the left side of the magazine well, oiler slot (empty) on the left side of the trigger group cover, the early pattern cocking handle on the right, the combination dust cover and safety on top and a two-position telescoping buttstock. A tan canvas sling is included.
CONDITION: Very fine, with 95% plus professionally restored parkerization, with a few patches
of shallow pitting below the finish on the receiver and mild handling marks overall. The barrel catch is loose, otherwise mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) that is classified as a “Curios or Relic” as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
