Group Industries Model 37 Belt Fed Machine Gun with Tripod, Class III/NFA Registered Machine Gun - Serial no. 300046, 30-06 cal., 24 inch round bbl., matte gray phosphate finish, metal grips. Manufactured prior to the 1986 machine gun registration cutoff, this is a Group Industries transferable machine gun in the Browning pattern, built using components from a number of sources. “GROUP IND. L’VILLE KY. MODEL 37” marked on the bottom surface of the right sideplate. “NO. 300046 U.S. INSP. A.D.C./BROWNING MACHINE GUN/U.S. CAL 30 M1919A4/MAN’FD BY SAGINAW STEERING GEAR DIV./GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION” marked on the right of the sideplate. Folding sights, with a blade front and a peep and notch rear sight with windage adjustments and elevation adjustment,
and a ventilated heat shield around the barrel. Includes an “AMC” marked tripod, pintle, T&E mechanism, and a green ammunition can containing belt links.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 95% of the combination arsenal refurbished factory applied matte gray phosphate finish with some scattered light scratches and scuffs on the heat shield. Included tripod is very good, showing mostly smooth brown patina. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
