World War II Walther “ac44” Code G43 Semi- Automatic Rifle - Serial no. 1592f, 8 mm Mauser cal., 22 inch round bbl., blue finish, laminate stock. Hooded blade front and tangent rear sights, with the rough-cast receiver marked with the model, “eagle/swastika” and “eagle/359” proofs, serial number and “ac 44”, and a rough cast bolt carrier with a hollow cocking knob. Fitted with a matching numbered laminated pistol grip stock, with a cupped steel trapdoor buttplate and a brown leather sling. CONDITION: Very fine, with 85% of the original blue finish, showing scattered light spotting and handling marks. A few minor scratches and dings are present on the otherwise excellent stock, with some cracking of the sling. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,750 - 4,250

Exceptional World War II Steyr- Daimler “bnz45” Code 98k Bolt Action Rifle - Serial no. 4456T, 8 mm Mauser cal., 24 inch round bbl., phosphate finish, walnut stock. Introduced late in WWII, the “Kriegsmodell” (War Model) 98k was designed for easier and faster production, increasing the number of stamped components while eliminating some features. This particular 98 was produced in the “t” suffix range, placing it very late in the war. Fitted with a hooded blade front and tangent rear sight on the “ED” stamped barrel, with “Mod.98/bnz45” on the receiver ring. Fitted with a stamped “byf ” trigger guard and floor plate, and a pair of screw-secured stamped and welded barrel bands. Crude cast safety assembly on rear of bolt. Smooth pistol grip stock with a laminated hand guard, “eagle/swastika/H” Heer stamp on the right buttstock and a cupped steel buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 95% original phosphate finish with limited handling marks, stock is very fine with scattered dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,500 - 3,750
LOT 622 World War II Walther “ac/44” K43 Semi-Automatic Rifle - Serial no. 2716n, 8 mm Mauser cal., 22 inch round bbl., blue finish, laminate stock. Blade front and tangent rear sights, a cast and machined receiver marked “K43” and “ac/44” on the left side. A scope rail is installed on the right side of the receiver, with a hollow cocking knob and right-side manual catch on the bolt carrier. Matching numbers are present on the receiver and carrier. Smooth pistol grip stock with a black leather sling and a cupped steel buttplate. CONDITION: Very fine, with 85% of the original phosphate/blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, mild spotting and handling marks. The stock is fine as varnished, with mild scuffs, stains and dents. Mechanically very good. Estimate: 2,250 - 3,500 LOT 623 “Last Ditch” Late World War II Gustloff Werke “bcd” Code Mauser 98k Bolt Action Rifle - Serial no. 2924, 8 mm Mauser cal., 24 inch round bbl., phosphate finish, laminate stock. Manufactured late in World War II. This features many of the wartime expedient features common for 98k rifles near the war’s end such as stamped and brazed barrel bands, and gray phosphate finish. Blade front and tangent rear sights with standard “eagle” firing proofs on the barrel and receiver, “eagle/280” stamp on the barrel, “eagle/245” stamp at the top edge of the receiver, “bcd” production code, and “4” date code. Barrel is unique with concentric circular grooves visible at the muzzle and tightening notch visible at the rear of the tangent sight (possibly a repurposed machine gun barrel, unique!) All visible numbers are matching. Laminated pistol grip stock with a cupped steel buttplate. Includes leather sling. CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 80% plus original phosphate finish with limited handling marks, and dings and scratches on the otherwise fine stock. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,000 - 3,500 LOT 624 Early Pre-World War II J.P. Sauer & Son “S/147/K” Code Model 98k Bolt Action Rifle - Serial no. 6923, 8 mm Mauser cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1934. This early production rifle features inverted “V” notch front and adjustable rear sights, “S/147/K” receiver, and matching numbers and assembly numbers on all visible parts. The hardwood stock is marked with two waffenamts and is fitted with a buttplate marked “R.F.V./1523/6923”. Includes a brown leather sling. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 75% original blue finish with limited handling scattered handling marks. Stock is fine with crisp markings, scattered handling marks, dents, and scratches. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,000 - 3,000

Haenel-Lorenz Single Shot Bolt Action “Wehrmannsgewehr” Rifle - Serial no. 1270, 8.15mm x 46R cal., 29 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. This rifle is an example of a serviceman’s target or Wehrmannsgewehr rifle, which were assembled from some World War I surplus parts, a newly made receiver, and some newly made parts between the World Wars. These rifles were popular among civilians and paramilitaries and circumvented the Treaty of Versailles due to their caliber. Blade front and Haenel marked elevation adjustable notch rear sights, with the receiver ring marked “ORIGINAL/HAENEL-LORENZ” over circled “H” logo. The left of the receiver has “crown/B” and “crown/U” proofs, and along with the buttplate is numbered “1270”, with “270” on some other components. The magazine assembly is properly absent, with the stock solid in the region. Smooth pistol grip stock, with a smooth flat buttplate. CONDITION: Very fine, retains 80% plus of the blue finish with some scattered light edge wear and handling marks and the bolt handle showing a grey patina. The wood is fine with a couple repairs near the upper barrel band and some scattered light handling marks throughout. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Buckstix Collection.
