Features a bayonet lug on the bottom of the barrel towards the muzzle, a brass blade front sight, a flat unmarked lock plate with beveled edges and “banana” profile, and brass furniture. A diamond shaped brass plate located behind the lower tang is punch dot marked with illegible letters. “WI” carved into the right of the buttstock. “GDM” (George D. Moller) collection initials marked at the toe of the stock. Includes a reproduction leather sling. CONDITION: Good with smooth brown patina overall, scattered light pitting, mild flash pitting, and a repaired touch hole. Stock is also good as refinished with scattered light scratches, a small absent section on the right of the forend below the barrel line, some minor chips around the side plate and lock, a crack ahead of each of the lock screws, numerous scattered cracks around the buttstock and buttplate,
and carving as mentioned above. Mechanically excellent.

LOT 109 Early Mid-18th Century Germanic Musket - NSN, 71 cal., 42 1/4 inch round bbl., bright finish, walnut stock. This unidentified early Germanic musket is attributed by the consignor, George Moller, as possibly manufactured by Suhl circa 1710-1750. It features an iron tulip head ramrod, top mounted bayonet lug towards the muzzle, full length stock with three barrel bands, sling swivels mounted on the middle band and front of the trigger guard. An “S” is marked on the top left flat of the breech end of the barrel, and raised letters “SS” in a sunken border is marked on the left barrel flat halfway concealed by the wood line. “GDM” (George D. Moller) collection initials marked at the toe of the stock. Includes a reproduction leather sling. CONDITION: Very good with scattered light pitting, and nice markings at the breech. Stock is good with some scattered scratches and dents, some chips/absent sections in the ramrod and barrel channels, a crack on the right of the forend, some cracks on either side of the lock, an absent section to the left of the barrel tang, and some scattered termite holes. Very Scarce Crimean War Era Czarist Russian Izhevsk Arsenal Model 1828 Flintlock Musket with Bayonet - Serial no. N94533, 69 cal., 41 3/8 inch round bbl., bright finish, walnut stock. This is a very scarce example of a Czarist Russian Model 1828 flintlock musket of the type that is known to have been used during the Crimean War (October 1853-February 1856) in which Russia took on an alliance of France, the Turkish Ottoman Empire, the United Kingdom and Italian Sardinia. It is very possible this musket found its way to the United States to see subsequent use during the Civil War. Izhevsk Arsenal manufacturer mark in Cyrillic above an “1833” date at the center of the lock. “1833” dated on the all three of the brass barrel bands, the brass side plate, brass trigger guard and around the barrel tang. “N94533” (faint) marked on the top left flat of the breech end of the barrel. Faint remnants of a cartouche visible on the right of the buttstock. A crown above a double headed Czarist Russian Eagle is marked on the brass buttplate tang. “GDM” (George D. Moller) collection initials marked at the toe of the stock. Includes a socket bayonet and reproduction leather sling. CONDITION: Very good with scattered light pitting and wear on the barrel, and moderate pitting mixed with dark patina on the lock with otherwise nice lock markings. Brass displays an attractive bright patina. Stock is also very good as lightly sanded and re-oiled with some light scratches and dents, a crack ahead of the rear lock screw, a chip below the side plate, chips and a crack behind the barrel tang, a repaired section to the right of the barrel tang, and slightly undersized around the buttplate tang.  LOT 108 Early 18th Century Dutch Flintlock Musket - NSN, 75 cal., 45 3/4 inch round bbl., bright finish, walnut stock. This musket shares some visual similarities with the Dutch Type I and Type II muskets described and pictured on pages 382-389 of George D. Moller’s book “American Military Shoulder Arms Volume I” but has some features that do not conform to either of the aforementioned.
