Rare Smith &
Wesson .38 Single
Action “Mexican
Model” Revolver
- Serial no. 13099, 38 S&W cal., 5 inch solid rib bbl., blue
finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured from 1891 to 1911
with total production of only 2,000 the “Mexican Model” is
one of the most highly sought after and least observed antique S&W
models. This revolver is in the scarce Mexican Model configuration identified by
the spur trigger not integral as part of the frame, no half cock position and flat side
hammer. Many of these revolvers were shipped to Mexico, Russia and South America. The barrel rib
has the two-line, two block address and patent dates flanking “MODEL of 91.” The revolver is fitted
with a replacement pinned beaded blade Lyman front sight, a standard notch rear sight on the barrel
latch, and desirable red mottled hard rubber S&W grips. Matching serial numbers are on the butt,
cylinder, barrel and barrel latch.
CONDITION: Fine, retaining 60% original blue finish with a smooth gray patina on the balance. Nearly all original case colors remain on the hammer. The grips are also fine with some wear in the checkering. Mechanically excellent. A .38 Single Action “Mexican Model” Revolver is a must have for the serious S&W collector and is a model of revolver missing from even the most advanced collections.

to 1902. Matching serial
numbers on the butt, right
grip panel, cylinder and
barrel. Comes with a correct
and proper box closely
numbered but to a different
revolver and bore brush.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% plus original nickel finish with scattered minor handling marks. The grips are also excellent with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is very fine with minimal wear and retaining most of the end label.
B) Smith & Wesson .38 Safety Hammerless 4th Model Revolver
with Pearl Grips - Serial no. 134519, 38 S&W cal., 3 1/4 inch solid rib
bbl., blue finish, pearl grips. Manufactured from 1898 to 1907. Pearl
grips with silver S&W medallions and matching serial numbers on the butt, cylinder, barrel and barrel latch. Comes with a correct and proper box numbered to a different revolver.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% original bright blue finish showing some minor patina flaking. The grips are fine with a chip towards the bottom on the left panel. Mechanically excellent. The box is very fine showing minimal wear.

3rd Model of 1891 Revolver with Factory
Letter - Serial no. 26328, 38 S&W cal., 5 inch solid rib
bbl., nickel finish, hard rubber grips. One of the most rare
and desirable Top-Break S&Ws, the factory letter confirms
the 5 inch barrel, nickel finish and checkered black hard rubber grips on this rare Model 1891. According to the Jinks letter, the revolver was shipped on August 31, 1910 and delivered to Belknap Hardware Co., Louisville, Kentucky. The right grip panel is numbered to another gun. Matching serial numbers are on butt, cylinder, barrel and barrel latch. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% original nickel plating with limited faint flaking. Traces of original case colors remain on the trigger guard, and 98% original case colors remain on the hammer. The grips are also excellent with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. An outstanding addition to any collection of antique S&W models.

al., 2 inch solid rib bbl., nickel finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured 1902-1909. Matching serial number on the barrel, barrel latch, cylinder, and butt. Includes original factory box.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 95% plus original nickel, some light surface scratches throughout, and scattered light spotting. The box is fair with interior deterioration. Mechanically excellent.
