German Shipped and Gastinne-Renette Parisian Retailer Marked Smith & Wesson .44 Double Action First Model Revolver with Factory Letter - Serial no. 22841, 44 S&W Russian cal., 6 1/2 inch solid rib bbl., nickel finish, hard rubber grips. The factory letter lists this revolver with a 6 1/2 inch barrel, nickel finish and checkered hard rubber grips when shipped on October 3, 1892 and delivered to Markt & Co., Hamburg, Germany. The left side of the barrel has a Parisian retailer marking: “FNI PAR GASTINNE-RENETTE A PARIS”. As S&W historian Roy Jinks explains in the factory letter, the German distributor would have supplied this revolver to Gastinne Renette in Paris. The revolver has the correct 1 7/16 inch cylinder, right grip panel numbered to another gun and matching serial numbers on the butt, cylinder, barrel and barrel latch. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 98% factory Gastinne-Renette company post-inscription quality reapplied nickel finish with very limited light flaking. 90% of the case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. 70% of the blue finish remains on the trigger guard. The grips are excellent with crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,250 - 3,750

frames were manufactured by 1898, therefore making them antique. The revolver has a blue finish which is hard to find with this model as most were plated

Single Action Target Revolver with Factory Letter -
Serial no. 2163, 32-44 cal., 6 1/2 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish,
walnut grips. The New Model 3 dominated target competitions in the late 1800s, and are found in the serial number range below 4,333. Of the 4,333 target variations manufactured, 2,930 were chambered in .32-44 caliber. The included factory letter confirms the 6 1/2 inch barrel , blue finish and wood grips. The revolver was shipped on May 28, 1894 and delivered to Scott & Sons, London, England. British proofs are stamped on the left side of the barrel, right side of the frame and in each cylinder flute. Matching serial numbers are on the butt, cylinder, barrel and barrel latch.
CONDITION: Fine, retaining 75% plus original blue finish with thinning
to brown on the balance. 80% original case colors remain on the
hammer and trigger guard. The grips are also fine with a couple notches at the bottom, some minor handling marks and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent.

Double Action Frontier Revolver - Serial no. 11198, 44-40
cal., 4 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, hard rubber grips. All
frames for this model were manufactured pre-1899, but finished
revolvers were shipped as late as 1913. Rare 4 inch barrel and
matching serial numbers on the butt, right grip panel, cylinder, barrel and
barrel latch.
CONDITION: Fine, retaining 70% original blue finish with a smooth brown
patina on the balance. 95% original case colors remain on the hammer
and trigger. The grips are excellent showing very minimal handling evidence and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Box - Offered here is
a S&W walnut stock
extension designed for
use with a S&W New Model No. 3 revolver. It has nickel plated attaching hardware and a checkered S&W hard rubber buttplate. Includes a correct and proper S&W box. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% plus original nickel plating and only the slightest handling marks. The box is fine with a repairable split corner, minimal wear and nearly all of the end label remaining.

CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 90% original blue finish with some thinning to patina and high edge wear on the balance. 95% original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger guard.
