Very Ornate Gold and Silver Ornamented Paris Marked Flintlock Pistol Decorated for the Ottoman Market - NSN, 69 cal., 11 3/4 inch round bbl., gold/silver/bright finish, walnut stock. The early 19th century flintlock pistol was manufactured in France and decorated for the Ottoman/Turkish market. The lock has three domes with crosses flanking the “Paris” mark at center, a guttered semi-waterproof pan, frizzen spring roller, and gilt backed engraving with scroll, crescent moon, and martial designs. The stock has silver furniture that appears to have all had a gilt finish and features primarily relief classical martial motifs. The stock is also extensively inlaid with silver wire and floral patterns along its length, and the ramrod has a silver tip.

The front wedge is absent. The stock is good and has some minor cracks and repairs, a few slivers of loose or absent wire, and some small flakes/chips at the edges. Mechanically fine. Provenance: The Tom Lewis Collection.
