Exceptional Factory Liebscher Signed and Engraved
Gebruder Merkel 20 Gauge Model 147EL Double Barrel Shotgun with Box - Serial
no. 387144, 20 gauge, 26 3/4 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut
  stock. Manufactured in 2007. Blued Krupp-Stahl barrels with single brass bead sight on the matted, concave solid rib, marked “147EL 20 Ga” on the right barrel, 3 inch chambers with ejectors, and choke constrictions of .008/.017 inches. The
scalloped, sideclipped boxlock action features a trio of pheasant on the left and a pair of hares on the right all surrounded by floral scroll engraving, double triggers, bushed firing
pins, and an automatic tang mounted safety. The toplever is silver inlaid with “EL”. The action is signed on the left side with a “GL” for Merkel Master Engraver Gerhard Liebscher. Highly figured, multi-point checkered tings and Deeley latch release and straight grip stock with Merkel buttplate. Includes the original factory box with end labels listing many of the features. Stock measurements: 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at heel; 14 7/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs 1 oz. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes, minimal handling evidence, and sharp checkering on the forend and stock. The box is very fine with only the slightest storage wear. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 4,500 - 7,000

Factory Master Game Scene Engraved “S.P.” Signed Merkel 20 Gauge 147E Double Barrel Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 385020, 20 gauge, 26 3/4 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 2002. Blued Krupp-Stahl barrels with single brass bead sight on the matted, concave solid rib which is marked “147E 20 Ga”, 3 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, and choke constrictions of .008/.017 inches. The action is signed on the left side with a “S.P.” Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and Deeley latch release and straight grip stock with Merkel buttplate. Includes a factory leather bound takedown case with cleaning
tools. Stock measurements: 1 5/16 inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 1/2 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs 2 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes, minor oil discoloration on areas of the coin, and minor handling evidence. There is a small chip on the left side of the forend at the shoe, otherwise the wood is very fine with a few minor marks and sharp checkering. The case is excellent. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,500 - 4,000

Factory Engraved Gebruder Merkel Model 200E Over/Under Shotgun with Box - Serial no. 179407, 12 gauge, 26 7/8 inch vent rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1988. Blued Spezial Laufstahl barrels with dual white bead sights on the matted vent rib, standard Merkel markings
and import mark on the left of the breech section, chambers marked 70 mm (2 3/4 inch) with automatic ejectors, and choke constrictions measured .031/.

There is a slight gap at the front of the forend; otherwise, the wood is excellent with a few minor marks and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,000 - 3,000
LOT 1477 Factory Engraved Gebruder Merkel 20 Gauge Boxlock Over/Under Shotgun - Serial no. 77383, 20 gauge, 26 inch vent rib bbl., blue/ casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1970. Blued Bohler Stahl barrels with single brass bead sight on the matted vent rib, standard Merkel markings, chambers marked 70 mm (2 3/4 inch) with automatic ejectors, and choke constrictions measured .004/.005 inches (improved cylinder/improved cylinder). The casehardened bolstered boxlock action displays light floral scroll engraving and features a single selective trigger and a tang mounted manual safety switch. Lightly figured, multi-point checkered three-piece forend with engraved fittings including the Deeley latch release and pistol grip stock with hard rubber grip cap and buttplate. Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/2 inch drop at heel; 14 1/2 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 6 lbs 9 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% original blue finish with light wear at the muzzle, 98% original case colors, scattered minor spotting, and minor handling evidence. The wood is very good with scattered light dings and scratches, small chip on the right of the forend, and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,250 - 3,500
